Though there have been significant gains in literacy rates, large gender, social and regional disparities in literacy levels persist. The gains in literacy levels are due to success of the adult education programmes and improvements in primary schooling. However, there is a further need to enhance the literacy levels of the socially marginalized groups and those living in rural areas through interventions of adult education programmes and open schooling systems. This theme seeks to elicit views on how we achieve faster progress in reducing the existing disparities in literacy levels.

The person who have failed in examination could explain well about examination because he faced the worsed situation during the examination. Highest stress is felt by only the failure and not by the sucessous and PM Narendra Modi have faced the same situation during his school/college time for which he gave that much information about examination and stress in his speech during 'Mann ki Baat' yesterday.

My personal opinion is that Government of of India must immediately focus on implementation of Curriculum Framework, 2005 in all CBSE affiliated schools in letter and spirit. Commercialization of Education by private players has proved to be detrimental to the overall education scenario in the country. Mr. Prime Minister talked to children in "Mann Ki baat" regarding stress management. But one of the root cause of stress among children - Excessive bag load on Children - remained untouched.

Many students in villages have not knowledge about what to do after 10th and it is the main reason for failure among these. I was also confused about what to do at next after 10th. So I think there should be a program for explaining the ways after 10th exam in every high school every year just after 10th exam. So that the students will be able to choose the way according to their interest.

Rural literacy depends on employment chance while schooling so school timing in village schools are important .It must be between 8 AM to 2 PM so that the rural student can explore their parent profession at least for half day,it may be agriculture, vegetable selling etc.We have to remove failture from all curriculams except health related courses so the progress sheet will include the marks actually scored by each individual student. We can not force education .It must be enjoyable.
