Though there have been significant gains in literacy rates, large gender, social and regional disparities in literacy levels persist. The gains in literacy levels are due to success of the adult education programmes and improvements in primary schooling. However, there is a further need to enhance the literacy levels of the socially marginalized groups and those living in rural areas through interventions of adult education programmes and open schooling systems. This theme seeks to elicit views on how we achieve faster progress in reducing the existing disparities in literacy levels.

Mostly Teachers, Professors, Lectures are not available during their work time in gov't colleges and at job time they are not present. At village location, 95% of teachers are not available. So make a law that when a college starts they check in with a device and at ends they check out. Like as in private sector.

It is true that there should be one common language of study and common syllabus required all over India. Upto 10th one local language ( generally mother tongue) After 10th the education should be skill based and need based. Need based means a pupil want to learn any thing should get full support to learn.

I would also sugest that we should have some teachers or rather trainers or coacheswho are not part of the usual academics to train the stufents some out of the box thinking. This will help the students to get a 3D VIEW rather than the same old view taught by the assigned class teacher. The explalnatio should be thru the use of smart classes and practical aids

Hi brothers and sisters, think about this properly, Just as one size does not fit all, why should all students study Maths, English, Science & fail or score less before academically brighter students? Cant they study, arts & crafts, tech skills and academics separately after learning basics of 4R's till 4th std and become say - gardening graduates, carpentry grads, painting grads, cleaning services grads, machine repair grads, etc. and lift their heads confidently b4 academic grads& earn lakhs?

The third point is every teacher should undergo A TEACHER SKILL UP GRADATION COURSE every two years as per the changes in the field they are teachingToday we have a techer who got into school and is teaching for the last 20- 25 years without any new skills so the children are getting frustrated and less interested.Another inportant category is YOGA we should make Yoga a compulsory part of extra curricular activity Along with this basic health and hygiene classes should also be given.
