The Ministry of Labour and Employment is implementing the National Career Service (NCS) as a Mission Mode Project for establishing a network of Career Centres for providing a variety of employment related services. These Career Centres will be the main outreach centres for the National Career Service Project. In this project, a National portal is also being developed to facilitate registration of job-seekers, job providers, intermediaries etc. and provide job matching services in a transparent manner. These facilities alongwith career counselling content will be delivered by the portal through multiple channels like Career Centres, helpdesk, mobile devices, CSCs etc.

The Ministry seeks to position the National Career Service as a one-stop platform for all employment and career related services. It seeks suggestions from the public, youth, students, Research Institutes, Industry Associations, Academia, Industry etc.forCareer Centres on the indicative areas listed below:

a. Branding of Career Centres: A name and tagline communicating the objectives with particular focus on provision of employment and counselling related services to the youth of the country

b. Coverage of Career Centre: Geographical catchment, Sectoral thrust, Special focus groups, Women and youth centric

c. Implementation Agency for Career Centres: Academia (schools, colleges, universities etc), Industry, Industry Associations, Governmental organisations

d. Services to be offered: Jobseeker registration, Employer registration and job posting, Career counselling, aptitude assessment, Job matching, Information on availability of courses at educational institutions, training providers, Guidance on self-employment and entrepreneurship.

e. Technology Platformfor NCS: Linkage with Aadhaar/Bank accounts to meet KYC norms, Integration with other large databases, Verification of certificates and credentials.

f. Network of Career Counsellors: By linking career counsellors in schools, colleges and universities toprovide professionalcounselling.

g. Involvement of Civil Society, NGOs, CBOs and self-help groups.

h. Local Service Providers through Career Centres: Directory of Local service providers like drivers, plumbers, electricians etc.

i. Career Content Knowledge Repository: A searchable and updated database of skills based content in multiple media formats for easy access.

j. Revenue model for Career Centres to ensure sustainability.

k. Public Outreach Strategies.

Most suitable and innovative entries will be rewarded by a cash prize by the Ministry.

The last date for submission of entries is 31st March, 2015.

Sir let it be a widespread process with 1 Apex Career Centre , State Career Centres , District Career Centres , College/University wise career centres . Named on Subhash Chandra Bose at centre , State names at state . They should be made functional as counseling plus recruitment centres . Hamare naujawan ko sabsa zyada zarurat confidence ki he ki won kuch kar sakte he .# We can Do .

As I apprehended in my post on 5th March, new formart of MyGov has not yet become free from hassels for all contributors as yet. Needless to underline, participation to MyGov is not iimited to high-tech-savvies only. Rather, even mediocre ones would like to try their hands on visiting and partcipating by contributing in their own humble way on topics they are comfotable with. IT IS DESIRABLE THAT MyGov MAY FORMATTED IN A MODE TO BE ACCESSIBLE TO ALL AND SUNDRY HASSLE FREE.

We have many bright students but they lack confidence and focus. For the past 15 yrs I carried out number of activities like development workshops. Another imp thing is to motivate students to do something great in their life. If students are polished, they shine. I purposely hired vernacular medium students, interviewed them in Hindi if they could not speak English. Within 3 months, they were at par with others. My successful activities are listed in PDF File.

A website should be made which will include all exam info(eligibility,edu,syllabus,etc) written in simple language Maximaun use of e-services. councillors avail in correspnding languages. motivation n guidance should be provided. all teachers of school and college can be joined for help. online counseling guidance.

Creation of "Career Centres" is a great idea. There is no doubt about it. The most important thing is that how these can be sustainable and keep providing quality results to the users. In my opinion, Public-Private-Partnership is a great model to start with. Anyone who needs to get tips or detailed training in preparation of his/her Job Resume can walk in and get necessary help. Let us discuss in more details through discussions on this platform.I would like to share my experience.

"career center" idea seems to your coordination with earlier programmes named " Reorienting Employment Exchanges" & "Digital Locker". But most important is to coordinate between INDUSTRY & our HRD MINISTRY COURSE DESIGN. Further you might be interested in under mentioned CII report on requirement of INDIAN INDUSTRY: 1. #CareerCentre - Though rural areas are in dire need of such centres, attention should be given to the effectiveness and ease of operation of such centers. I would say it is good to start with district head quarters and taluk head quarters. In all government programs initial success is very important, in people considering the program a success or not. Initial success will create the necessary momentum to inspire more people to get involved.

Implementation Agency for Career Centres: Industry Association - Invest in India d. Services to be offered: Counselling, Skill Training, Internship, Job portal e. Technology Platform for NCS: Good. f. Network of Career Counsellors: From industry and academies. h. Local Service Providers through Career Centres: No only through emp office.
