Dear Citizens, ...

Dear Citizens,

Our city Agra ranks 35th on the list of 97 scoring cities with 52.69 marks in the first round of the Smart city Selection process.

Agra Nagar Nigam is currently working on enhancing its proposal for Round 2 of the Smart City Mission. One of the key processes of the Mission is to engage with the citizens at every stage in order to enhance and upgrade the proposal. The Agra Nagar Nigam request its citizens to examine the earlier proposal in detail and identify the gaps and post their remarks/feedback on the discussion thread. The citizen engagement would lead to a meaningful envisioning exercise and identify the priority areas of physical, social; economic and institutional infrastructure.

To update our proposal in order to achieve the benchmark set by the MoUD and the winning cities, Agra Nagar Nigam appeals to the Citizens to engage and provide their suggestions in formulation of the Smart City Proposal for our city.Your valuable feedback will help us shape the vision, goal and proposal for a Smart Agra and also innovate, shape, review and revise the proposal.

The Smart City proposal Round 1 submitted to MoUD can be accessed through the mentioned link below. Your valuable comments are solicited, so that they can be incorporated to formulate a winning proposal.

We would also like to thank you for your overwhelming response during the first round of smart city citizen engagement campaign. Your feedback has helped us to formulate a long term vision for the city. Most of you aspired to make Agra a world class heritage city. The vision statement formulated for the city was “Agra as a world class heritage city with increased economic development for all.” This is an attempt to further strengthen and improve on the vision statement to take into different aspects of the development into consideration. Request you to spare few valuable minutes & contribute to city’s future by further strengthening the vision as follows:

Agra city don't have "ONE WAY" system on roads, even crowded market don't have one way. Few markets like Kamla Nagar main market, Rawat Pada to Belanganj can be made one way. For Belanganj alternative parallel route is Yamuna Kinara or many parallel lane. IT will reduce heavy stress of traffic. Even small cities like Dhule, have ONE WAY concept, why not Agra. its necessary to ease traffic.

River behind Tajmahal shall be converted into lake like Ahmedabad Sabarmati or River Siene Paris. Beautiful lake and gardens will increase Taj mahal beauty and tourist can enjoy steamer or cruise ride from Taj mahal to Rambagh covering all monuments as in Thames river or Siene Paris. Additional revenue will be generated and river bed will be cleaned.

All Traffic light signals shall be controlled for Emergency vehicles from Center Control Office. So that they can give way to emergency vehicles. All Emergency vehicles like firefighting, ambulance, police shall have GPS system, and their position can be viewed by Center Control office, and accordingly signals can be changed to give them way on priority at time of #emergency. Also same time Control office can inform traffic police on duty about vehicle coming on their route. Must for #smartcity

This is very shameful that city of Taj Mahal, Agra does not have air connectivity with the world. There is no city where any of the 7 wonders of the world is situated, do not have International Airport except Agra.So it is the duty of Govt. of India to see that Agra has an International Airport at the earliest so that the tourists coming to see the Taj should not have the bad idea that Indian government is such a falure that it can not afford to build an International Airport in the city of Taj

For making a city a smart ,infrastructure should be smart like on bus stops we should able to trave our bus online, we can book appointments to govt hospitals online, proper coordination with the municipality in terms of cleanliness. The base part of development is infrastructure and connectivity .24hrs electricity is needed and for that there shouldn't be any power theft hence technology involvement is needed.Whatever work is going on photo monitoring should be needed for transparency.
