Dadra & Nagar Haveli is well connected by road and Rail with rest of the country. The NH-8 provides the major road connectivity to the study area. With rapid Urbanization and industrial growth in Dadra & Nagar Haveli UT, the population and vehicles have increased rapidly in the recent past years. This resulted in traffic congestion in the urban areas. UT Administration has frequently initiated steps for betterment of heavy vehicular traffic plying in this UT and having appreciated the existing problems and constraints felt that there is a strong need for improvement of Infrastructure in Road Sector in a planned manner to meet the growing demand.

The Report provides information about the regulatory and economic context in which the Territory’s heavy vehicle industrial traffic operates. Though my point is not directly relevant to this topic but i am writing as this is the closest I could get. Many legalities in India exist just for sake of it. PUC certificate is one of them. Though it measures pollution but tell me one case when a vehicle had to be grounded/repaired for its non compliance.

The bridge at k.m. 45/460 on Mumbai - Pune express way is mooving hurdle in smooth traffic of vehicles to and fro kilometre no 45/460 on Mumbai Pune express way. This fact has been retired by Maharashtra state road development cooperation of state of Maharashtra. The bridge, known as "Amrutanjan " bridge, has become obsolete and deserves to be demolished as early as possible. The bridge is owned by railways. The railway ministry should take appropriate urgent action to demolish the "Amrutanjan"

Controlling Traffic Safety - Can be done by strictly enforcing the traffic rules like no parking, helmet for two wheelers, seatbelt for 4 wheelers and imposing increased fines on the violators. It is a big surprise to me why traffic rules are not strictly enforced in our country. There is abundant manpower available in the country and the recruitment in traffic ploice department should be increased many fold. The salary of the increased staff can be easily met from increased fines collections.

1.Build wide roads to allow smooth flow. 2.Start public intra-city transportation (buses) in order to reduce traffic created from two-wheelers. 3.Make alternate ways to diverge traffic & maintain flow of traffic. 4.Maintain a smart traffic management system (direct link to traffic control room, monitoring through CCTV cameras, traffic controller at every traffic light or multiple crossing or on main paths with heavy traffic). 5.Initiate an app which would notify about traffic on particular road.
