Dadra & Nagar Haveli is well connected by road and Rail with rest of the country. The NH-8 provides the major road connectivity to the study area. With rapid Urbanization and industrial growth in Dadra & Nagar Haveli UT, the population and vehicles have increased rapidly in the recent past years. This resulted in traffic congestion in the urban areas. UT Administration has frequently initiated steps for betterment of heavy vehicular traffic plying in this UT and having appreciated the existing problems and constraints felt that there is a strong need for improvement of Infrastructure in Road Sector in a planned manner to meet the growing demand.

The Report provides information about the regulatory and economic context in which the Territory’s heavy vehicle industrial traffic operates. It addresses forecasts of future vehicle traffic and measures in place to manage heavy vehicle safety issues within the urban area of this UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli. The Taskforce has used the information gathered to assess potential risks and identify opportunities to improve road safety outcomes for all road users in UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli.

The term traffic safety refers to the risk of a person being killed or seriously injured while using the traffic network as a pedestrian, cyclist or user of public or private transport. The importance of traffic safety is obvious; traffic accounts for many deaths and injuries. According to the traffic department of UT, road traffic injuries caused an estimated 50 -60 deaths UT wide in a year. Measures can be taken in order to reduce the number of casualties and injuries greatly.

Most industrialized States & UTs have comprehensive requirements and specifications for safety-related vehicle devices, systems, design, and construction. These may include Passenger restraints such as seat belts often in conjunction with and airbags Crash avoidance equipment such as lights and reflectors Driver assistance systems such as Electronic Stability Control Crash survivability design including fire-retardant interior materials, standards for fuel system integrity, and the use of safety glass moderation detectors.

The department is inviting comments in this regard from expertise in the field so that the same can be adopted by the department and thus makes improvement in the traffic related issues.

if we want to control the growth of vehicles we shall have to develop a safe,unpolluted,easy,fast,comfortable public transportation system and also have to make strict laws to control the number of vehicles and inspire the people to use public transport than personal.for short distance people can ride bicycle and there should have cycle track.we will have to expand and develop the train transport for carriage and air service also to carry the people faster in less time.

In European countries they ride by cycle and feel confident and happy,but here even a child do not want to use.In fact for smaller distance work cycling to be promoted but major issue is safety.Due to huge four wheeler and complete polluted roadways buses without road sense it is difficult to ride a cycle.Govt.should take actions.There will be two benefits-1. Swachh non polluted India 2.Easy and safe human life.

The number of public transport vehicles and their frequencies should be increased in big cities so as to reduce the traffic which causes delay in every kind of productivity. Timeliness is also affected greatly by this. For eg: For people working in IT sector in Pune have almost negligible time for their family and personal work after they finish off their job for the day.

we should prmote use of public transport because pepole use personal vehicle as status symbol and consider use of public transport as a matter of shame.celebrities and other public icons should come forth and use public transport so that common man will also be encouraged to use this. In my opinion this is very effective idea to control heavy traffic

Allow the concept of Motorcycle taxi and bicycle taxi. Motor cycle taxi are popular in goa and cycle taxi in rural Africa and they occupy less space than auto rickshaw on road.

1. A rule introduce in all India that only who can purchase bike/car if he/she park their vehicle in their house/society and no would be all on road. 2. Increasing of taxes on vehicles. 3. Encourage the people for the use of govt transport. 4. Daily two last digit of vehicle restrict for movement.

* restrict the heavy vechile movement in the day time into city or periphery, just like in delhi. * celebrate road safety and traffic awareness week every quarter in colleges * introduce the fuel credit coupon lottery system with discounts for passenger and two wheeler vehicles. ^ popularize fuel credit in the form of public distribution system and divide the traffic in constituencies like urban/rural; north/south. * if these ideas makes positive difference don't forget to reward me.

daman ,dadra &nagar haveli me sabkuch ho sakta hai lekin hamari public aur hamare neta me dum nahi haiaur uska advantage delhi se aaye huye IAS IPS loot machakar chale jaate hai eske liye aam public ko hi kuch karna padega.

Sir, separate lanes for 2 wheelers. New flyovers can help. Double decker buses. One way lanes. Subways for crossings. One of the crossing can be on flyover. Footpaths for pedestrian. Separate routes for public transportation. Parking space should be constructed as multistorey facilities. No parking on roadsides. Construction of malls should be on the outskirts of the traffic areas. Civic sense of citizens and training of citizens through advertisement and campaigns(Schools are best place).
