India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Major obstacles in fruits & Vegetables post-harvest in India is lack of proper storage facilities & fast transportation facilities. Major development projects are to be undertaken to counter such big issue and in rapid fast manner. For this small or large cold storage facility is to be developed as per the particular location requirement along with proper transport connectivity to the next point to be developed. Preserving and quick transportation is the best collective measures for such issue.

Wish to draw govt. attention on the loss of revenue on account of under invoicing for import leading to huge loss of custom duty. It would be appropriate if govt. takes necessary step in this direction. This has direct connection with Hawala Money being sent outside.

Today I heard our PM's radio show Mann ki baat and in he shared the problem of drugs addiction problems taking place in todays youth in my opinion the government agencies are taking this issue seriously as last year in our college the officials of Narcotics department conducted a work shop to provide us the info of its harmful effects and what should be done if someone is addicted to it where we can complain about people engaged in these acts

What about pollution free environment. Can't we have a compulsion of bicycle for every citizen , as it is beneficial for health of citizen , environment and economy as well . If every person either rich or poor use the bicycle for doing the odd jobs near by to his work place or house we can save huge sum of petrol diesel etc.which will be beneficial for every person and economy as well how much import of crude can be reduced by this .

In India focus should be on improving our Transportation & and proper connectivity of rural-urban areas. Indirectly road facility to each village will solve this post-harvesting loss.

Dear PM, Now listening "MANN KI BAAT". Your direct talk to the nation is bringing lots of Charishma & energy amongst the fellow Indians. MAN KI BAAT has created an atmosphere like serial "RAMAYAN" when all would just sit and watch TV. Same is happening now for MAN KI BAAT,, Please continue this noble work once in a month, INDIA will sure change & reach to the apex soon. Me and my family switched off all popular TV programs on SUNDAY morning & listening to MANN ki BAAT on FM Gold on TV.
