India needs cold storage facilities, India is a nation with 60% of population depending on agriculture. In India 40% of the food produce goes to rot because we lack the basic minimum infrastructure to supply the food grains from Point of Produce to Point of consumption, which is further worsened by the transport system of the country.
at this time of emergency, insted of pouring money into research of high yelidiing varities, India should invest in building new cold storage facilities.

Minimize transportation time and create network of off-the -grid cold storage facilities. Storage can be low temp above freezing, not necessarily frozen storage

Mr. Prime Minister, we need to work in the field of crop research to produce high quality crops in the first instance to make it lasting one and this would be the only lasting solution. For the present we need to encourage private people help in collection, storage and safe transportation.

Biological preservation and value addition in a way healthy for human consumption without addition of chemical preservatives can be adopted.we are all vegetarians and fruitarians but we consume more carbohydrates and lose our health. One serving with cereals and two servings with fruits and vegetables will lead to more consumption and lesser storage period.even cold storage will not be good for health as is said with refrigerated items
