India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

Pranam,This is in regard to laying of Geo./eco. friendly roads where in the slope of the roads is down towards the destination which will save lot of fuel some times the roads can be used with minimum fuel/even without fuel as there is every chance one day the total fuel may exhaust.Hence we should plan to make use of gravitational force to lay geo.friendly roads.

Pranam. The height of the roads in cities is increasing due laying of layer over layer when they are disturbed due to rains due to which the man holes level is frequently disturbed, which is causative to frequent accidents.instead the level of the road can be made static by scraping the superficial disturbed layer and relaying by re using the scraped material adding some new material. Then the man hole level will be static reducing the traffic disturbance and accidents. The residents adjacent.

AUSTRALIA for AGRICULTURAL INDIA: In order to overcome the problem of Farmer's suicides and feed the families, which feed the nation, a pledge to Pravasi Bharatiya living in Australia to adopt a Farmer's family who is in distress. The idea is to support the families in their physical & mental wellbeing, education for their children and financially of course by bypassing private money lenders who are one of the cause for farmers suicides.

By installing food processing industry we could reduce post harvest losses.Secondly, cold storage transport unit should be installed in each block level of sub-division in district, which will then connect to the bigger cold storage unit nearby.

We can use them in food for domestic animals and make use of it. Charge people who wastes any kind of food. Like in restaurants if you throw leftovers make people pay fine for it.
