India is the World’s second largest producer of Fruits & Vegetables. However, the processing of perishable products in our country is very low, in comparison to the developed countries or developing countries like China, Brazil, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. One of the main constraints in the growth of processing of fruits & vegetables in the country is non-availability of modern and suitable infrastructure with efficient supply Chain. Consequently, there is very high level of wastage of the fruits & vegetables in the country resulting in the farmer not getting adequate remuneration for his yield. A study conducted by Central Institute of Post Harvesting Engineering Technology (CIPHET), Ludhiana, an ICAR institute, reveals that wastage in various agricultural crops in the country range from 6-18% and the highest loss has been shown in fruits and vegetables.

Ministry of Food processing Industries invites views/ suggestions for reduction of these losses.

Last date for sending your suggestions is 1st February 2015.

We can save these fruits and vegetables to sell to the food processing firms like ITC, reliance fresh and export to the other countries where these can be consumed.

Big and small air conditioner trucks 2 or 3 in number making them avalable in every village..and collection point in every village .where farmer can easily sell there vegitable and fruits..it can easily cum to super market..at less rate..

Dear Sir , Please make available booklet on AGRICULTURE n HORTICULTURE to young generation people in regional language so that they can read and understand farming first. some people are interested in farming but due to lack of knowledge and lack of proper guidance hesitate or do not dare to use new innovative ways in their own farms. I feel such booklets on poultry , fishery , dairy should be made available in regional language at small villages cities at Banks Gram panchayats and online also

Fast and effective supply chains are required, so tht consumer can get benefit before it get spoiled. Safe packaging shld be introduced before going to the outlets.

Its only solve by three point- 1. Way of transport, 2. Modernisation of equipment, 3.market location Choose most easy way transport that help u to reach as soon as ur destiny. Ways are like road ways or water ways. If air way are possible for long route that will excellent. Equipment for the keeping stock and loading on vehicle are modernised.that will not produce any harm during the transport and cool chain is important. And choose market which is nearest. Government divide the market.

Hi panel , Referring to Bangalore in particular, compramising on the condition of road transportation system and the public lightening system , I feel the necessity to lay proper indicators atleast . I have seen many people missing speed breakers in pitch darkness and hence getting hurt badly . women , children were also seen to be effected very severely because of this negligence . kindly consider this sir .
