In kerala, many NRI families are out of the tax net. If tax assessees are denied subsidised cylinders, people will tend to evade tax and enjoy the benefit. On the other hand make IT PAN compulsory for everyone at birth.

There should be allotment of more cylinders in household with terminally ill persons or those undergoing chemotherapy etc.

Have enforcement officers who can inspect vehicles and hotels etc. If the dealers are truthful, cylinders cannot be misused. Random checking should be there to see that the cylinders reach the proper destination.

Restricting the number of cylinders will jeopardise the family system. Me, my wife and child prefer to live with my parents so that they will not feel lonely. As such there are more number of members. Just for the sake of getting separate gas connection should I leave my parents and live separate ? Therefore allot number of subsidised cylinders on the basis of number of members in the household.

LPG consumption can be reduced by improving and encouraging packaged food of indian varieties to replace breakfast and lunch in the households.Further, this move will also enable many housewives to leave kitchen and become productive by participating some work.To reduce the diversion of subsidized LPG,stop manufacturing of auto rickshaws, cars and other vehicles running on LPG.

People use Kerosene in lamps and gen-sets during power cuts and load-shedding. No other way children have to study. Villagers should be using more firewood in traditional way. Stop the subsidy as a whole. Even if it is linked to bank account, misuse will be there. Have two types of cylinders ( in size and colour) for domestic and non domestic. Prohibit use of LPG in motor vehicles. For domestic users, restricting number of cylinders is wrong.

Please stop inducing people to supply biometric data to foreign linked companies to get Aadhar. Why the government is flouting SC direction ? Why is the government bent upon supplying data to UIDAI - the foreign linked workplace ?

This change-over can be hastened if the single burner gas stoves are available freely and cheap. This can further be boosted by making available small size (half the normal) LPG cylinders to the SKO consumers, since they will be cheaper.

As for the Kerosene, the monitoring and controlling the diversion would be difficult and as such the easiest way to curb diversion is to gradually reduce the quantity of Kerosene available at the PDS shops. If the Kerosene is not available the diversion will reduce since the PDS has to supply to the real consumers – otherwise they will protest. And if there is short supply consumers will automatically start thinking of changing over from SKO to LPG.

Excise duty and VAT (new GST) can be abolished for medium term on:
a. Single Burner LPG Stoves (this will help in migration from Kerosene to LPG)
b. Induction Cook Tops (migration from LPG to electricity)
