Unless Kakinada Under Ground Sewerage System (KUGSS)is implemented under the AMRUT Scheme of MoUD, there is no point in calling the Smart City concept. This KUGSS is to be taken up along with implementation of laying Fresh Water Disptribution Pipe Lines (replacing the jundred and twelve year old pipelines) across the City for all Fifty Divisions along with laying Under Ground Power Lines across the City. Allthis shouldbe combined at a stretch for one time single purpose digging of surface.

Instead of investing that huge amount in providing sewer lines, the Govt could spend that amount in promoting the domestic sewage treatment, which would reduce the quantity of sewage to be carried by sewers. In this system the sullage thus treated could also be reused for the domestic purposes and thus is a technology for water conservation. As a civil engineering student I have proposed an Idea on this and if contacted further, could exhibit the idea.

As citizen of kakinada i am glad to know that sewerage system is going to be implemented in kakinada in the forthcoming years. it is highly advantageous to the public. it will improve the health standards of people thereby increasing the standard of living of people. though kakinada is a coastal city, implementation of sewerage system not difficult.....planning will be done accordingly...lets hope we will be in top 20 for becoming smart city......M venkata S

kakinada is Industially developing city with its port based activities and no.of industies established in the past 20 years. Most of the people are residing in the merged panchayats without sufficient drinking/drainage facilities/road connectivities.
hence the same are required to be improved
