I was listening to Rajiv Malhotra's lecture where he described about old Indian water management system which was very decentralized and pollution free. That system was managed and controlled by Panchayats. When British came they created very centralized system of governance which ignored and destroyed our decentralized governance and so water management also perished. If we can revive that system and by using new technology we can improve it.

Dear Sir, Generation of electricity is main problem, there is no power in many parts of Maharashtra cities like Thane & Palghar face electricity load shedding. Water scarcity is also a problem, if Maharshtra have ample supply of water we may generate electricity, ultimately we get industries growth. We need to change this, please do something to change our Maharashtra. Linking of rivers is great task & should put on fast track. We are always for the development of our state / country. Jai Hind

First of all i want to appreciate this movement(my GOV) by our honourable Prime Minsiter of India for providing a platform to express our views. Secondly my experience of working in the successful 'Swachh Bharat' Mission, which is my first direct involvement in any govt. initiative so far has provided me a platform to come up with Ideas. Sir,Construction of high raise buildings should be considered seriously. Best way to harvest water is make it compulsory for Commercial and residential multi floor buildings. Even parking n use of ground/basement floor should be strictly controlled by Center.

By conncting local institutions with peoples, expert advices related to ground water assessment, recharging borewells etc.will be available to them in their locality.

I think we should take help,guidance and advice of local public and private institutions like senior colleges, universities in managing underground water resource. By this we will increase participation of expertise in programme and it will have following spinoffs 1. It will increase practical experience of working professors, helping them to enrich their teaching. 2.student will be sensitised abour issues relating to watershed management as seminars, field visits can be arranged for them.
