PRESENT DAY INDIAN CHILDREN ARE OVERBURDENED WITH UNWARRANTED CONTENTS IN SYLLABUS LIKE BIRTH YEAR OF AKBAR & SO ON. MORE THRUST NEEDS TO BE PLACED ON GRASPING CURRENT & RELEVANT ITEMS IN SYLLABUS & REDUCING SUCH HISTORICAL & UNWARRANTED CONTENTS IN SYLLABUS OF EDUCATION. CHILDRENS'MIND NEEDS TO BE MADE MORE PRACTICAL APPLICATION ORIENTED RATHER THAN MUGGING UP THEORITICAL CONTENTS.

Sir, Now a days students are focusing how to get marks but not on knowledge improving. All universities need not focus on one aspect(like research), focus on different aspects. India universities are not placing in top 100 world universities. Let initiate a project like "Vision 50 universities", follow the diversity among all universities like 10 central universities, 10 state universities, 10 private universities, 10 deemed universities and 10 institutions of national importance considered.

There are five big challenges in India before all schools, colleges and universities: firstly - why students should go to schools/colleges/universities; secondly - how to relate classroom teaching & training to Real Life Situations; thirdly - how to train teachers; fourthly - how to inspire and motivate students & teachers; fifthly - role of scholastic and co-scholastic (soft skills or life skills) areas in regular curriculum; finally - grading system (percentage or percentile or ABCD or else)

A complete change in education policy is needed Let's start by looking at how we are teaching students currently; 1st-5th class- Basics of language, numbers 6th-8th class- Into stories and algebra 9-12 class Deeper science and maths How i propose a change I think India should start creating responsible citizens by teaching them first aid, spoken language skills, leadership related field trips. We need more citizens who understand the nation and feel responsible for it

Skills :- The education system should be skill oriented instead of degree and marks oriented. Currently student try to achieve marks , because of it they forget to concentrate on skills building. By allowing private & public sector companies at college phase we can achieve it.

The challenge with education is if you score 60% and above, the people are bound to be attracted towards IT and jobs in foreign. The rest of the people are competing for teaching position. The best way to bring the best people for educational institutes are preferences should be given to the people who studied within the same district. This means exploit the affinity towards their home town to attract these people who teach in other states and countries which will help better education.

Recently, Colleges relating to UPTU have introduced E-Learning using a projector and some slides. Advantages: Teachers put in less effort teaching, students get a real idea of the problem, no wastage of time in writing down/ copying. Disadvantages:Many Teachers have stopped putting in effort to teach, now they just dictate, Students don't put in an effort to visualise the problem, hence susceptible to any change caused to the problem. No imagination involved. Is this really a benefit?
