In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

Many times in Bangalore's busy life (and so in most of metro cities), I have seen people who are interacting with the public (bus conductors, traffic police, govt officers) often get stressed by the very nature of the work which makes them angry and frustrated. This comes out in the form of scolding public and behaving with them badly. It is good to have a daily 30 mins Yoga session at all govt offices and KSRTC bus drivers+conductors to do Yoga before starting their day. It will help the public

It is proud share my views here about Yoga. I would like to request you that there should be an optional subject from primary education itself to make it part of life.

It is indeed a great day for entire world as practice of Yoga in combination with meditation will improve Mind and Body coordination and also with the environment around us. But It should be practiced by age group from 14 and above since till the age of 13 years the bone growth will be faster. After proper growth of bone one should practice Yogasanas. Hence Yoga should be made compulsory in School and Colleges from 9th Standard onward. Yoga is the Gift of India to World.
