In December 2014 the United Nations declared 21st June as ‘International Day of Yoga’ after 177 nations across all continents of the world co-sponsored a resolution seeking the same.

When the resolution was adopted, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed immense joy on this and said that Yoga has the power to bring the entire humankind together. It may be recalled that the Prime Minister had mooted such an idea during his speech at the United Nations General Assembly in September 2014.

You are requested to provide inputs on the following aspects relating to the marking of the first ever ‘International Day of Yoga’.

(1) How can the ‘International Day of Yoga’ be celebrated at the UN forum?

(2) Suggest creative ways in which the ‘International Day of Yoga’ can be celebrated at the world stage.

(3) What are ways in which we can mark the ‘International Day of Yoga’ across the length and breadth of India?

Best inputs and suggestions would be sent to the Prime Minister himself and would also be utilized.

It has to be seen in the right perspective as to how and why things have come to such a pass that Yoga has almost got vanished from our present day routine. So much so that the people, more regrettably the younger generation, refuse to see Yoga as of any consequence. WE OWE IT TO POTERITY TO FIND OUT WAYS AND MEANS TO 'RE-INTRODUCE' YOGA TO GEN-NEXT AS THE ONE WHICH ACCORDS STRENGTH AND ADDS TO PERSONALITY. A GET-GOING ELEMENT!!

YOGA has hither to been a part and parcel of the Indian culture and tradition which of late had almost slipped into a sort of hibernation and limbo. YOGA, however, got a big boost when tbe Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi mooted the idea of making YOGA a part of International culture and tradition. BY DEDICATING A DAY TO THE YOGA, THE INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITY HAS ACCORDED YOGA THE WORLD-WIDE RECOGNITION. A PLACE OF PRIDE TO YOGA IS A PLACE OF PRIDE TO OUR ANCIENT TRADITION.

Please read this book about Indian civilization written by famous American Historian Will Durant as early as in 1935. It gives quite an accurate picture of Indian Civilization and its contributions. Inventions and contributions of Indian civilization greatly praised in this book. The book is the part of the larger volume 1 of Story of Civilization.

Since it is the first international Yoga Day for the world, and for India it is a matter of great achievement at the global front. It should be celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm. Since it is Sunday(21st June 2015) this year, local administrations or RWA's should make an effort to plan yoga sessions for all the residents. Let us all make it a day for Nation.

With occasion of Yoga Day on 21st June this is an opportunity to call the nation at least natives of all cities on ground or out of their home. As I have seen the small country like Cameroun in Africa stand still for 3 hours in the morning on every Sunday. HH Prime Minister by stopping all the transport, shutting down the electricity just for 3 hrs. on every Sunday Morning. Country can save millions of tons of fuel and million MW of electricity which we are in need to save badly.
