India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

Dear sir, now only read this news as per below link http://dhunt.in/xrU93?s=a&uu=0xde910de886d448dd&ss=pd I would request kindly implement strict law for water harvesting to make compulsory for all types of borewell, hand pumps, wells, etc. Each big to small companies, housing society, farmers , colony etc each and every one have to implement. Kindly make SOP and other guidelines, etc. Else sooner or later whole India have to face water scarcity. Also you can ask each state to make pipeline, join each other so that during rainy season extra water of northeast, Bihar, UP and uttarakhand can be divert to water scarce place. This whole system will work only during rain not for normal days. Pipes can be connect to nearby dams of neighboring state and from that dam or canal to other neighboring state etc. and this network can be connect to pond, dams or very big water harvesting project of that state.

Usage of Toilet & tissue paper should be minimised. Proper disposal of used Sanitary Napkins and Tampons instead of throwing them in dustbins. A portable incinerator facility should be there to dispose the used sanitary pads safely.. All hospitals and clinics should segregate their clinical wastes and send it to a medical wastes collection centre. Each city and village should have a separate clinical waste disposal center. Well trained staffs should be employed to handle these disposal centers to destroy the used gloves, saline water bottles, surgical dress materials, caps, cotton bandages, injection bottles, syringes, blood and urine samples etc. It's really disturbing to see when some hospital staffs dump their clinical wastes illegally and irresponsibly on empty grounds. This is really dangerous and pollute the environment and spreads infection. Government should take serious action on such irresponsible people and seal such hospitals dumping their clinical wastes.

India ranks amongst the bottom five countries on the Environmental Performance Index 2018. E-waste collection, transportation, processing, and recycling has serious issues regarding leakages of toxins into the environment and workers’ safety and health. E-waste is a rich source of metals such as gold, silver, and copper, which can be recovered and brought back into the production cycle. According to the study, 5 tonne of e-waste, which would come from about 183 computers, gives a huge profit of Rs 1,78,308. Here are 6 apps/websites that not only help let you recycle old electronics but also earn money. 1. ExtraCarbon. 2. ECS e-Waste. 3. Karma Recycling. 4. Atterobay. 5. Zolopik. 6. nCashJunk
