India is one of the leaders in sustainable development and clean energy. With the Hon PM Narendra Modi-led government’s reform-oriented, environment-friendly policies, the country has time & again shown that sound environmental policies can pave the way to a sound economy.

At the UN Climate Change Conference COP26 in 2021, PM Shri Narendra Modi announced the ‘LiFE’, a mission to bring individual behavioural change at the forefront of the global climate action narrative. LIFE or Lifestyle for Environment along with the ‘Pro Planet People’ movement, aims to strengthen the efforts to overcome climate change.

LiFE will replace the prevailing 'use-and-throw’ thinking with an environmentally conscious lifestyle. The Mission is to create a global community of ‘Pro-Planet People’ (P3), who with their shared commitment will adopt and promote environmentally friendly lifestyles.

Individual Efforts Are Key to Climate Commitment

India's traditional knowledge strongly positions it to lead the narrative of addressing climate change. Like many other mass movements, LiFE aims to inspire climate action based on the mantra of ‘Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas’.

MyGov invites you to share your ideas and suggestions on how to adapt to an environmentally conscious lifestyle.

1. Reduce
2. Reuse
3. Recycle
4. Renewable
5. Recover
6. Re-design
7. Re-manufacture

Few examples for the above:
Reduce - Electricity, Fuel Usage
Reuse - Old Clothes, Electronics, Building materials, furniture
Recycle - Plastic, newspapers, cartons, boxes
Renewable - Solar, Wind, Hydro, Tidal, Geothermal & Biomass
Recover - Forests, rivers, soil, mountains, wildlife
Redesign - Green buildings
Remanufacture - E-waste for new purposes

Our civilisational values have taught us the importance of living in harmony with nature. Today, let’s come together to protect our environment & take forward Mission LiFE - Lifestyle for Environment.

dear honorable prime minister living life with sustainability is really important thing for us all and also for our country India. not only a person can change the world but we all have to be united to change it and make it a good place to live for future generations. in today's world sustainability is very important as there are many problems such as depletion of fossil fuels which is the main cause of the rise in prices of petrol, global warming , due to this production of a crops is depleting day by day and it is the reason that the price of vegetables are getting higher day by day. there is a famous quote that says change starts from oneself so I think we individuals first have to change the environment we live in . As a teenager myself I can't do big things to change this world but only small things , like using the uses of plastic bags and using a bag made up of cloth saving energy by turning of the unwanted lights, fans etc. so at last I would like to thank honorable PM MODI

HELLO AND GOOD AFTERNOON SIR, IN THE LAST POST I HAD WRITTEN WAYS TO CHANGE OUR ENVIRONMENT AND SURROUNDING FOR SUSTAINABILITY. BUT FATHER OF INDIA "MAHATMA GANDHI" HAD MADE A FAMOUS QUOTE : "BEFORE CHANGING THIS WORLD FIRSTLY CHANGE YOURSELF". SO IN THIS THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO CHANGE YOURSELF FOR MAKING OUR ENVIRONMENT SUBSTAINABLE: >REDUCE HOUSEHOLD BIODEGRADABLE WASTE. >WASH CLOTHES BUT THROW THE DIRTY WATER IN SOME FIELD TO RECHARGE GROUND WATER. >DON'T USE DRYER OR AIR BLOWER PUT ON SOME EXTRA CLOTHES TO KEEP YOURSELF WARM. >INSTEAD OF USING PLASTIC BOTTELS USE STEEL OR WOODEN WATER BOTTEL. >AVOID USING HARMFUL CHEMICALS IN CLEANING AREA. >AVOID THE USE OF COSMETICS. >DON'T BUY SYNTHETIC CLOTHES. >ALWAYS TRY TO USE BICYCLE INSTEAD OF MOTOR VEHICLE. >USE BUCKETS INSTEAD OF SHOWER DURING BATH. >BUILD SOLAR DESIGN TYPE HOUSE WHICH IS ALMOST CONSIDER AS OPEN AIR TO USE SUN LIGHT AS SUFFICIENT FOR LIGHTING HOUSE DURING DAY. THANK YOU SIR

Sphera Glossary What Is Environmental Sustainability? By Sphera’s Editorial Team | May 19, 2020 Human wellbeing is closely linked to the health of the environment. Around the world, 24% of deaths can be traced back to avoidable environmental factors, according to the World Health Organization. People need clean air to breathe, fresh water to drink, and places to live that are free of toxic substances and hazards. As we begin to experience the long-term consequences of exponential industrial growth and energy use, we must act to reverse these effects and prevent further damage, ensuring we have healthy places to live for generations to come. For businesses, it means committing to environmentally sustainable practices to help build thriving communities and secure future growth potential. What is Environmental Sustainability? environmentally conscious lifestyle.
