A National Mission on Mentoring (NMM) offers individuals to engage in the processes of learning under an experienced professional. To accomplish this goal a large pool of senior/ retired faculty can be selected as potential mentors for mentees. The selected mentors would be utilized for the specific purpose of mentoring students, teachers and school leaders. This would provide an opportunity to network with experts, engage in forums to exchange 'earnings, best practices and disseminate findings across various domains.

A structure of mentoring, therefore, offers a solution to address the existing gaps in decentralized manner. To regulate the functioning of NMM at each level of education structure, different stakeholders/ actors interact with each other to achieve a common goal towards improving the acquisition and transfer of knowledge, skills and mindsets. The main objective is to improve school education system through enhanced leadership in education. This can be achieved through the incorporation of large scale, decentralized technology assisted mentoring structure at different level of education system.

In this regard, a draft document on NMM titled as "Bluebook on Mentoring" has been placed in public domain on 03.11.2021, as a set of guidelines towards creation of a document and platform for National Mission for Mentoring.

NCTE invites inputs, suggestions and feedback on the draft document "Bluebook on Mentoring" from all stakeholders.

1.. As Sri Datta Ji Mentioned.. Emphasizing more on Vidhyanjali program where mandating government schools to onboard so the registered volunteers can support. 2. I just came to know about Smt. Mamta Akit and her great work in educating the school children. The government can initiate special training programs from Smt. Mamta ji for interested volunteers and certify them to participate in training programs. This will really help in bringing the disruptive changes in our education system.

I sincerely appreciate the Govts decision to implement the mentoring of students with respect to education . This will go a long way in bringing out the best in students not just in theoretical but also in practical education with a view to instill overall development in our future children. Its Important to train our students to be better citizens. This is a very good initiative by the govt to invite experts from the education field to mentor the students for their future life.

Mentoring students through retired educational personal is very good concept but before that all post of teachers should be filled . in Goa almost all Govt School school and Higher secondary are running with the help of Lecture basis Teacher's. young Teachers are working on 150/- per lecture in school and 250/- per lecture in Higher secondaries. they are teaching with full potential but not getting reasonable salary only (10 to 15 thousand). sir please absorb them in regular service. 🙏🙏

Train Mentors on goal setting strategies & the art of giving feedback on educational beliefs, attitudes & behaviours. Training on like offering feedback, active listening, reaffirming student perspective & offering praise with constructive criticism will help mentors push their mentees to change their thinking or behavior with growth mindset & cognitive coping strategies for stress & without righting reflexes on negative results. Have mentoring models like group or cross-age peer mentoring.
