The National Commission for Women, a Statutory Body set up in January 1992 under the National Commission for Women Act, 1990 has the mandate to safeguard the constitutional and statutory rights of women. The Commission initiates program which aids empowerment and holistic development of women so that they are capable to gain access to opportunities and make their own decisions.

International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women was launched in 2000 by the U.N General Assembly. It is observed annually on November 25th. International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women seeks to raise awareness about violence against women. This day aims to eliminate violence by removing stigma and encouraging women to speak out against abusers. This day defines violence against women as any act of gender-based violence that results in or is likely to result in, physical, sexual, or psychological harm to women. The goal of this day is to achieve equality, development, and peace. It aims toward the fulfillment of women's and girls’ human rights.

In pursuance of its mandate and in order to achieve the goal of ‘Elimination of Violence against Women', the Commission invites inputs, suggestions, and feedback from all stakeholders through MyGov Portal, with a focus on Breaking the Silence against Gender Violence. The aim of the programme is to promote equality, development, and peace among the masses.

The last date to receive suggestions/input is 24th December 2021.

Everyone knows that gender is a socia- construct. First of all we should remove "Gendered Language" from our textbooks. For example: Chairman ❌ Chairperson ✔️ Postman ❌ Postal-worker✔️ Mankind ❌ Humankind ✔️ Saleswoman❌ Salesperson ✔️ Man-Made Machine❌ Artificial ✔️ Fireman ❌ Fire-fighter ✔️ Waiter ❌ Server ✔️

sir actually it will not be actually worth of just teaching them we should first educate the parents so that they shouldn't be the first one to Hinder their daughters' from taking action against the person doing violence. So that they too should be the part of the of their daughters' struggle and be theirs' part.

As a primary school teacher I have responsibilities to get awareness about violence and mostly on women.children regularly observe their parents.violence on women by both men and as well as women.children can’t express their felling s with anybody but they blow in front of their teacher. So through Parents Teacher meetings teachers can educate the society to some extent.

We also have to introduce unilateral policy and spread massive awareness to the society. Govt. should also be annexed the dignity of women with spiritual belief and the chances of cognition may be increased to curb violence.

Sir, First of all, domestic violence against women and discrimination is the main concern in society. The existence of National commission for women haven't been successfully proof its testimony for those women. Instead of glorification of merely name of commission we have to do landmark reforms through act. Awareness among stakeholders should be priority to accomplish non violent society for women.
