To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until 15th July 2023.

Strengthning the periodic assessment and accreditation of higher educational institutions is important for national development / future generations. I am submitting some suggestions reforms in afforsaid field. 1 periodic assessment should be time bound and specific. 2 There are huge number of private higher educational institutions. Some of them are able to manage assessment agencies. So thel assessment agencies should be selected in transperent and fair process. Gopal chandra ojha, ojhadih.

A SQUARE PEG ONLY IN A SQUARE HOLE Periodic assessment and acreditation is fine. But, they have limitations of not able to correct the intial errors already existing in the field. The foremost thing is that the area of higher education should be open only subject to a process of suitability and aptitude of the student concerned. Then and then only, the nation would produce professionals of high calibre who can face the challenges of transforming a great nation into a stature of the greatest. During the process of intake, we need to ensure that a sqare peg goes only into a square hole.

Indian needs continuous education program for all of the tribe. There should be mandatory test to do it. even simple objective comprehension. The subject should be from the foreign jaunts, scholarship reports of we the maliks /maibaaps, all paid from Hindu$$ . let we the people know why are they travelling, what are the outcomes /learnings . It is sad that we the maliks/maibaaps have not copied Indore on cleanliness. Infact NRIs would have better ideas to do it. btw y start fresh. where r the world top university/school measures and where India stands and how much india has to cover. make the data public . There should be a section on what research is being done. India r currently being fooled even with technology minister & that too engineers saying that AI will not make people jobless. shameful. India has to be prepared back to basics. It is food that we eat & air that we breathe is life. we should get this right, auto force of habit by class 5. Can we master it effortless

Our examination system has some problem. An intelligent student if he/she has some illness, stress due to family problems or some financial problems in that case he/she may not be able to perform what he deserves. These unwanted or untiming problems does not decide the rank in exam. Periodical assignment and performance in monthly must be the basis. Moreover our education system is lagging in practical knowledge. For example a student clearing civil service exam and posted as DM in a district has very less experiance in community services. My submission is that in question papers there must be questions on community services & village life. Krishan Kumar Gupta 1st & founding volunteer NSS 1969.

As a patent agent myself, I see that the national accreditation framework accounts for the number of patent applications filed by an institution but does not account for the quality of such patents. Because of this, many institutions file junk patent applications. Therefore, in case of this metric, the quality of patent applications filed by the institutions should also be considered. Otherwise, it will become a metric that can be skewed by the institutions by just filing more junk applications. Also, the number of granted patents and licensing agreements signed by them should also be factored in the ranking framework.
