To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until 15th July 2023.

Namaste! Strengthening and improving the evaluation of higher instirutions requires a 360 degree evaluation process. Starting from the individual student , institution, governing bodies, industry, society and nation . A fair 360 feedback helps assess real merit of the institution. This can be done by a panel of experts drawn from every field and stakeholders at each level. Apart from the standard accredition practices, greater emphasis should be on value and integrity across all areas being evaluated. Any discrepancy found should also have a time bound correction mechanism in place and needs to be incorporated within the evaluation process. Though time consuming ,the evaluation done in this manner may bring up some undiscovered potential and be an eye opener for identifying and improving weakness.This on the long run can yield magnificient results.

If the committee wants to judge colleges then they should consider the terms stated below. Suggestion:(from the perspective of a physics student) 1. First of all the Indian education system should become more open to the new discoveries in the scientific world. 2. Students should be encouraged to study more topics which are out of the syllabus and they should not be bound to the age old syllabus of colleges. 3. Talking about practical approach, practicals done in lab are well and good but the theory is just too frustrating. Along with the basic theory the assignment/internal should include topics in which the students are interested. This will encourage the students to do such assignments with much more attention and care. This also helps the students to learn research methodology by themselves without getting any "professional" guidance. 5. Teachers should play a more assisting role in place of a commanding role 6. Less importance should be given to attendance.

Some suggestions 1. Probably theory and more practical approach to be included. Generally as per my experience after degree people don't know how to move from college to work life or higher studies. Similarly after higher studies how we can move to next level. Probably a career guidance can help. People study theory but people skill or personality development mingling with people is lagging. So probably in angle we can improve. Team work, industrial exposure etc. Can give guidance if they are willing in start ups etc. Career program going is bigger shift from study phase to anyone. Probably any guidance at the time of shift will help any one either rural or urban areas.

उच्च शिक्षा मंत्री जी से निवेदन है किउच्च शिक्षा में पढने हर वर्ग की इच्छा हो ती है और वह सालो से कडी मेहनत करते है, cat, Net, Neet, etc परिक्षा के लिये पर जब cuttoff Mark के समय आधा , या एक से वह क्वालिफाइड नही होता, cutoff Mark हर वर्ग के लिये एक जैसा होना चाहिये। रैकं या योग्यता प्रथम, व्दतीय , तृतीय से विभाजन किया जाना चाहिये और सीट उपलब्ध होना चाहिये। क्योकि आई आई एम में प्रवेश के लिये cat, gate, आदि परिक्षा मे पास होने वाले को ज्यादा मान्यता दिया जाता है।

There has to be regular free updates on the latest techniques. student gets to work on the major platform /software while doing high school /college. be it Xcel, tally, Oracle, SAP , market survey Q, tele sales, V blogging, writing , photography, dance choreography, textile, interior design, cooking , cleaning . Use of more features of smart phone, net . It should begin from most interior villages , learning /talking languages, translations. Look at china serbian & many other tribe doing biz, attending exhibitions selling there ware without local language/english . guiding tourists and trying to understand and meet their requirements. Let them come up with user feedback. Give them survey work , with such huge student tribe, India can lead the survey field all backhodi- freedom happiness, democracy poverty/unemployment index. Let them learn to tabulate results. Think on data validation . 20-25/hours week learn& earn blue collar u have facility /gadget maintenance etc.

To strengthen the periodic assessment in higher education government should focus on practical approach of evaluation. its a high time we give attention to learning outcomes through practical approach. creative and comprehensive assessment should be implemented in our curriculum through this student will be able to assess there learning and at the same time they will be correcting there mistakes. we should eliminate the approach of only theory learning by adding real life examples , practice and fun learning.

First & foremost we need to put the lectures from 7th to BA/Bcom on state govt/central schools website u tube . It should be accomplished in a day . 10 subjects * 5o chapters * 2 hours/lecture * 10 classes. each teacher putting 1 lecture . sure we have 5000 teachers in every stateboard, if not make it a week to complete scale /pace. The supervisors & seniors chipping with synopsis of lessons, what shud be learnt & the learning outcome . Free . Then we should have a few test papers solved with marks expected . Mock learning provided for each class so students know where they stand. make phone /laptop/computers 0 or minimum GST, free wifi in school or better more data at same cost to registered students or even better the education sites can be accessed without internet . Put the testing measure upfront. We should have 20 hrs/week internship throughout practicing what is learnt in campus with necessary daily chores become force of habit aka mandatory marching by soldiers
