To address the growing concerns in the present Accreditation and Ranking systems of the Government of India had constituted a High-Level Committee. This Committee considered the introduction of strategic reforms consistent with the vision of the National Education Policy 2020 and the need for adopting a simple, trust-based, objective and rationalized system for approval, accreditation and ranking of Higher Educational Institutions with a verifiable and secured centralised database through technology-driven modern systems. Methodologies for facilitating Ease of Doing Business for the stakeholders, duly facilitating students in making more informed choices for selection of institutions/ programmes were also considered by the Committee.

After a series of deliberations, a High-Level Committee has submitted its draft Report on ‘Transformative Reforms for Strengthening Periodic Assessment and Accreditation of All Higher Educational Institutions in India’ to the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, Government of India.

In light of this, MyGov, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, seeks feedback and suggestions from all the stakeholders for the finalisation of the report.

This report has now been placed in the public domain until June 22, 2023.

During COVID-19 emergency the hospitals handed over deceased bodies wrongly to other families or cremated. Many families realised after they receive dead bodies of their relatives had conflicts/ arguments with hospital management. After cancellation of 3 licenses to run medical colleges in Tamilnadu we understand we have long way to go to automise the system.

We have seen many educational institutions are run by Political backed people, they manage to get accreditation very easily keeping aside of quality of education. This type of practice be avoided. Take help of big Religious Mandir and big corporate sectors under CSR where they provide insfracture and people of repute educationist ie Profesdors of IIMs IITs and other reputed institute be Utilized their services. The fee criteria be strictly monitored by Govt. National Legislators' Conference (June 15–17, 2023), Mumbai: Points to Ponder -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The National Legislators' Conference (June 15-17, 2023) in Mumbai needs introspection. Politicians have the authority to make decisions, but caste, religion, and dynasty-based politics breed corruption and crime. India should lead the Global South in developing "Courses and Careers in Politics" in collaboration with global leaders. Universities should be encouraged to develop courses on political leadership. Political processes and careers should be designed to take the best from each profession for the benefit of the poor. S.N. OJHA, Principal Scientist, ICAR-CIFE, Mumbai

Namaste sir. Ministry of Education took various innovative measures for the students and staff welfare for the past 9 years. UGC Chairman and officials are giving more circulars for the new implementations. Higher Education Institutions may be asked to give feedbacks about the action taken on UGC circulars. If various development measures implemented properly Higher Education Institutions will go to new heights undoubtedly. Instead of asking yearly reports,UGC may ask quarterly reports consists of UGC circulars implementations. Direct UGC helpline portal may reduce the stress of staff and students. Workloads of staff maybe verified through Academic audit system consists of retired Academicians for the welfare of Students and improving our NEP. Separate Sports portal may help to improve Sports activities and to strengthen our Honourable PM's Vision on Sports and Games. Limit may be fixed for New papers and innovations by various Departments in Centrally funded Institutions. Jai hind

We need an audit of the education system in each institution frequently. Every semester affects the learning capabilities of students. Audit should be on a quarterly basis rather than one time in a few years. There has to be an in-house audition system in every institution which audits every month. Human development is much more complex than finance.
