The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Last date of sending us your inputs is 21st August 2020

What I feel that 1st we should give up thinking about stress in terms of mental illness or psychological issues. Isn't this happen (stress)when u have so many works to do?Now u don't have ur work bt still u r feeling stressed. This is becoz we have engaged ourselves in the thoughts that earlier it was good. . Yes the condition is unprecedented bt think about the opportunities it has brought 4 u. Spend tym with family, learn something creative nd keep on learning. 😌🙂

1. Value yourself: Treat yourself with kindness and respect, and avoid self-criticism. Make time for your hobbies and favorite projects, or broaden your horizons. Do a daily crossword puzzle, plant a garden, take dance lessons, learn to play an instrument or become fluent in another language. 2. Take care of your body: Taking care of yourself physically can improve your mental health. Be sure to: Eat nutritious mealsAvoid cigarettes -- see Tobacco Cessation HelpDrink plenty of water.

Everyone can encourage the students for making their learning perfect and meaningful. Parents can reduce, students mental stress by several activities."Education gives us wings to fly ".So study lessons must limited. As in covid -19,students must protect themselves by wearing face mask, gloves and using sanitizer etc..Educational institutions can give activities and make the mind of students free and then for studies."Healthy children builds a healthy nation".Do meditation, yoga. Go ahead...

Mental Stress for me is abt thinking too much abt ur future, which is natural.Way to combat it is simply to express urself to ppl whom u trust the most.Make urself busy in those activities in which u dont need to think much eg.draw, dance, lisn music which makes u feel fresh.Even for parents, play some games with ur child so that ur mind changes seeing their smiling faces. In stress times, best medicine is family time which enables u to forget ur lows in life.We r born to be happy,so lets abide to it.
