The outbreak of the global pandemic COVID -19 presents a challenging time for everyone around the world. Not only is this pandemic a serious medical concern, but it also brings mixed emotions and psycho-social stressors for all. There are emerging mental health concerns with specific focus on Children, Adolescents and Youth as they more vulnerable to heightened level of stress, anxiety and fearfulness, along with a range of other emotional and behavioral issues. COVID-19 has also brought new stressors on Teachers and Parents hampering their capacity to provide positive support to their wards. While it is important to focus on continuing education on the academic front, we must give equal importance to the mental health and well-being of the students.

Manodarpan, an initiative of the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, under the AatmaNirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, aims at mobilizing psycho-social support to help Children, Youth, Teachers and Parents country-wide in a comprehensive and multimodal manner during conditions like COVID-19 and after. For more information, please visit www.mhrd.gov.in/covid-19/

MyGov in collaboration with the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, hereby invites citizens to share ideas and inputs to combat the psycho-social stress on School & College Students, Teachers and Parents, caused due to COVID-19 pandemic. Selected comments may be featured on social media.

Students should be engaged in activities like drawing, singing gardening cooking which can be pursued easily indoors and every home has this facility.Any constructive result produces reduces stress levels.Teachers need to be more patience during this crisis. As due to connectivity issues the child is already stressed so talking and trying to find out the students problem will also help to reduce the stress in the students.

My few thoughts for cultural learnings or beat the stress: New school students who are joining in schools don't know who is the best teacher OR every teacher is given the responsibility of teaching the subject of their expertise OR teacher's come from different experience and cultural background. So, students as well teacher's should respect eachother, learn together, participate in the cultural festivals. This Oneness will open the mind and enhance the vision. These are my personal thoughts.

Pranams. Our Honourable PM has initiated more facilities to the welfare of our country people. Most of the Institutions are not aware of the scholarship schemes to the students community. My humble request is to give training for administrative staff about the various scholarships of Government of India. It should be published in all the university websites to the benefit of students to fulfill the requirements of students by our Honourable PM. Bharat Mata ki jai. jai hind.

Students in higher classes say from college may be asked to undergo skill devt/online certification course which might be added to their internal assessment. Television can be made a platform fro learning where a separate edu channel can be opened. Shifting the academic year will be of great help.

Pranams. Before starting online classes, the Yoga warm up session may be considered. Bastrika, Brahmari and Nadi sodan pranayamas are mostly recommended by our Honourable PM. At the end of online classes Shasankasana and Eye exercises must be demonstrated. Because the students are watching mobiles and laptops. This will give energy boost to the students. Pranams. Decision making in some Universities are not proper to the welfare of students due to non availability of full-time vice chancellors. Ego clashes between the superior incharges will give more stress to staff and students. Most responsible posts like vice chancellors should not be vacant. To fulfill the students needs during this pandemic, the vice chancellors must be filled. Bharat Mata ki jai.jai hind.
