Poor science and maths education (and English) accounts for 80 per cent of total students who fail in Tenth Board Examination. The low enrolment in science stream at higher secondary level and poor-quality education is a constraint in development of scientific manpower in the country. Science and Maths education would need special attention. We need to deliberate and find workable strategies for strengthening the quality of teaching–learning processes for better outcomes; innovations and diversity of approaches in matters of curricula, pedagogies and use of technology to improve the learning levels.

from daily life to explain concepts and to cement them well in their minds.eg our physics teacher was teaching petrol and diesel engine to us in class 10.Most of the students were looking puzzled as if it is hard to understand .our teacher borrowed a fountain pen from one the students and openend it and asked you all know how ink is filled in a fountain pen. first of all you pull the shaft and then ink gets filled likewise is the petrol engine instead of ink air filled with petrol enters into

resort to malpractices or learn by heart and pour it down to the answer sheets.they seldom remember these concepts once the exams are over and will suffer in the long run.We should adopt the reverse method Understand and then learn.Teachers should devote their attention to make the students understand the concepts well. Most often subjects like science and maths involve abstract concept which are difficult for an average student to understand and remember. So the teacher must draw examples conti

Sir It is a known fact that poor science and maths education constitutes major failure and also low score in tenth boards thereby affecting the overall grades .Most often we follow the Learn and understand approach whereby students are made to learn the definitions formulas and experiments by heart(rote learning).the understanding part is mostly neglected.further students get low scores as they fail to understand the concept and they are punished for the same.To avoid punishments they either

The education policy should consider the social, economical and environmental condtion of the downtroddens. Give them the equal status . For that purpose the syllabus will have the equillibrium. It can be explained by various examples.

Examination system is pathetic here in Tamil Nadu, especially in Higher Secondary Level; TN students do not stand a chance in competitive exams such as IIT JEE - the reason being, TN State Board Exam pattern is out and out memory-based. While the CBSE goes from one change after another, TN State Board remains static and stale. There has not been a revision of the syllabus since 2006. If a student just mugs up the answers for all those question papers from 2006 to 2014, she is sure to get centum.

THE WHOLE COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE A SINGLE BOARD OF EDUCATION THAT WOULD BE MANAGED BY THE GOVERNMENT WHICH WOULD COVER ALL SCHOOLS OF THE COUNTRY. THIS BOARD WOULD PUBLISH THE SCHOOL TEXTBOOKS IN ALL LANGUAGES FOR THE STATES AND CONDUCT ALL EXAMINATIONS.THIS WOULD COVER ALL STUDENT BASED EXAMINATIONS. THIS ONE WOULD TAKE AUTHORITY TO FRAME THE SYLLABI AND IMPROVE LEARNING OUTCOMES BY LEVELS OF QUALITY.WOULD BE STRICT GOVERNING BODY HEADED MY MHRD.

TO IMPROVE LEARNING AND EFFICIENT LEARNING LEVELS WE HAVE TO FOCUS ON IMPROVING RESOURCES OF TEACHING AS I MENTIONED EARLIER THE BOOKS MUST BE REVISED.THE STUDENTS MUST BE MADE TO UNDERSTAND CONCEPTS USING TECHNOLOGY AND MEDIA. THE WHOLE COUNTRY SHOULD HAVE A SINGLE BOARD OF EDUCATION DIRECTING THE SYLLABI STRUCTURE FOR STUDENTS WHICH WOULD PUBLISH BOOKS IN ALL LANGUAGES AND CONDUCT SINGLE AND FIXED UNIFORM EXAMS.ALL EXAMS OF STUDENTS SHOULD BE BROUGHT UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF THIS BOARD.

I WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST THAT THE SCHOOL SYLLABI OF MATHS AND SCIENCE OF CBSE IS HIGHLY OF BELOW STANDARD LEVELS.THE STUDENTS ARE HIGLY BECOMING DULL IN SUBJECTS OF MATHS AND SCIENCE. THE COURSE STRUCTURE OF CLASS IX & X IS EASY AS COMPARED TO THAT OF XI & XII. DUE TO WHICH THE STUDENTS ARE FACING DIFFICULTIES IN COPING UP WITH THE HEAVY SYLLABI OF XI & XII. SO THE TEXT BOOKS OF IX,X,XI,XII SHOULD BE REVISED AND BE MADE AT PAR WITH COMPETITIVE EXAMS LIKE NTSE,KVPY,IIT-JEE,AIPMT,CAT AND OTHERS.
