Poor science and maths education (and English) accounts for 80 per cent of total students who fail in Tenth Board Examination. The low enrolment in science stream at higher secondary level and poor-quality education is a constraint in development of scientific manpower in the country. Science and Maths education would need special attention. We need to deliberate and find workable strategies for strengthening the quality of teaching–learning processes for better outcomes; innovations and diversity of approaches in matters of curricula, pedagogies and use of technology to improve the learning levels.

Start by changing references in all instructional textbooks where it only refers to "he". Replace this with "she/he" keeping in line with the ladies first ideology. All citizens are equal and our children need to learn this fact in the right manner. Mrs.Smriti Irani, you are the boss and you can help make this an immediate reality. This request is applicable to college textbooks too. Just give the order.

Story based, hint based learning will help the students. This one is from the story published in Sri Ramakrishna Vijayam. To remember the formula for water as H2O, the teacher in that story asks the students to remember it as "Home to Office" which gives hint to H2O. This kind of teachings will reach all the students.

Make it practical, industry-oriented and interesting. Relate it to real life and eliminate old, dead, useless, irrational, unnecessary and boring theories from academics.
