Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will share his ‘Mann Ki Baat’ with the farmers of India on 22nd March 2015.

The Prime Minister is very keen to interact with his farmer sisters and brothers across India and would also like to hear their thoughts, ideas and insights on a wide range of issues relating to agriculture. He has requested farmers across India to write to him and send letters to ‘Mann Ki Baat, Akashvani, Sansad Marg, Delhi – 110001’. Some farmers can ask the Prime Minister their question directly during the episode.

MyGov also gives you all this wonderful opportunity to contribute through ideas and inputs for the ‘Mann Ki Baat’ episode with India’s hardworking farmers.

The PM has repeatedly said that India cannot progress until the farmers of the Nation progress and has assured that the Centre will leave no stone unturned in ensuring the agricultural progress of India.

Agriculture subsidies should be linked to direct output of farmers. It need not be through fertilizer and other industries. There should also be a mechanism for fair price fixation so that agriculture also becomes a profitable industry. This will also help in arresting farmers' suicides.

Dear Sir the major reason for the farmers suicides is the habit of drinking or gambling. In all the areas where farmer suicide cases are there let there be ban on the liquor. once the person is drunk he fails to withstand the pressure of the problems and tends to run away from the responsibilities. Please ban all type of liquor in all the areas where farmers are doing suicides.

agricultural loans etc should be provided according to the requirements.Within in the last fifteen years thousands of farmers committed suicide due to various problems.Genetically Modified crops should be cultivated only after proper field tests.GM cropes viability also verified.multinational companies like Monsanto have developed many new agri products.but that also need proper scientific tests then only it should be supplied to farmers. The nation's development is definitely---

I expect PM to deal with (a) reasons for Farmer suicide in Vidarbha & Andhra and steps taken by government to minimize it (b) Allowing GM crops to multiply crop yield (c) alternate crops for tobacco grower farmers including more lentil crops & (d) steps taken to increase irrigation network to avail all the year crops.

Indian farmers suffer largely because they have marginal land holding and it is uneconomical for them to mechanize farming and improve productivity. Also large areas are not irrigated, restricting the types of crops. One answer could be cooperatives where farmers pool their land and collectively purchase equipment, fertilizer, etc. Also a mechanism for farm to market without pressure from politicians and intermediaries.
