The Policy on Collaborative Application development by Opening the source code of Applications intends to increase the pace of application development and rapid roll out/ implementation by adopting the principles of open-source development model. Government wants to promote reuse of existing developed applications. Successful running applications and new applications are envisaged to be developed within the public domain by opening the application source code and it is also intended to encourage innovation inside and outside Government by encouraging collaborative development to achieve better products in less time.

e-Gov application source open approach—including the use and release of application source to public—can reduce costs, reduce development time, and improve overall quality, including security through increased transparency and mass peer review.

We invite your attention and comments on the Policy on Collaborative Application development by Opening the source code of Applications

Usually open source development is only successful where there is a gain for a large community in using the application. People may work on a government application for a sense of involvement but I can hardly think of government applications that will have a good fit outside. Could you share some examples? There would have to be greater oversight and security checks placed on code developed by the community, to make sure malicious code isn't introduced.

Work From Home नही तो सही, कम से कम Work From Home Town तो implement कर सकते है ना ?

Both houses of parliament adjourned for the day! Reason? to pay homage to 2 departed MPs sooo sad. When will India learn? How much public money wasted? Can't we emulate Japanese ethics? and work an extra day to show respect to departed souls?

Many of are working on contract basis in various Govt. departments from few years may be regularized so that they can get the pay on time as they are facing lot of problems on delaying the pay. 3. There is a lot of dirt in the national capital Delhi itself. It should be cleaned. 4. There should be a good Govt. of you in Delhi.
