The Policy on Collaborative Application development by Opening the source code of Applications intends to increase the pace of application development and rapid roll out/ implementation by adopting the principles of open-source development model. Government wants to promote reuse of existing developed applications. Successful running applications and new applications are envisaged to be developed within the public domain by opening the application source code and it is also intended to encourage innovation inside and outside Government by encouraging collaborative development to achieve better products in less time.

e-Gov application source open approach—including the use and release of application source to public—can reduce costs, reduce development time, and improve overall quality, including security through increased transparency and mass peer review.

I think that opening the source code of Government applications is not good idea. But we can expose all functionalities of various Government services as Application Programming Interface (APIs) or as web services. This will facilitate individual developers and small IT companies to leverage these services to develop better applications. It will also spurn entrepreneur spirit of people of India and can encourage start-up culture. Such applications can add value in Job creation also.

Respected sir in my view every citizen must be aware of themselves,we must survive in correct manner, why there is more corruption in our country??? if we give means they take ,if we fight against them means they can do nothing. The youngsters want to give minimum awareness about the rules against corruption to villagers. All our political system is corrupted so the government must give punishment for any crime they do.
