The Policy on Collaborative Application development by Opening the source code of Applications intends to increase the pace of application development and rapid roll out/ implementation by adopting the principles of open-source development model. Government wants to promote reuse of existing developed applications. Successful running applications and new applications are envisaged to be developed within the public domain by opening the application source code and it is also intended to encourage innovation inside and outside Government by encouraging collaborative development to achieve better products in less time.

e-Gov application source open approach—including the use and release of application source to public—can reduce costs, reduce development time, and improve overall quality, including security through increased transparency and mass peer review.

Sir, Recently my friend applied for a passport renewal through tatkal. He tried to get appointment through online. But after trying for a week he could not able to get single appointment. Later another friend told him that around 70-80% of appointments are booked by agents who charge Rs.2000 each to get an appointment. Whole passport office is involved in this. As per my information, more than 50% officers in passport office have 3 times property than their actual income. Please take care.

Beloved Modiji, My cocern is about an emergency number to be established like the "911" in the USA, which caters to all the needs like Police, fire, ambulance etc single handedly instead of having separate numbers for each. This is important because during emergency people cant think straight and recall different numbers. Also, please keep the emergency no as 911 because this no. has been familiarized by popular culture and also, most mobiles support making calls to 911 even from locked screen.

there are umpteen number of colleges in the state of india; of them very least has any exposure to the growing open source developments. Other institutions are just processing out "syllabi oriented" products, which just kills the creativity of a being. By the end of education the brain has to be reprogrammed for another 3-4 years to reach some level of proficiency. Introduce open source development programmes under PPP at school level as first step; a giant leap shall follow

Respected Modiji, Besides a Banker, I am a Freelance photographer also. I have experienced that even in NASA photography is allowed while in India everywhere we see the Board "Photography prohibited" .At least in Heritage places and temples it should be permitted (ofcourse we are ready to pay fees for camera/video). where we can contribute ultimate photographs of Our old monuments.which can attract tourists.....Prashant Vaidya - Camera Club of Karnavati, Ahmedabad
