For India to become a favored destination for R&D projects requires excellent world class facilities, a government sympathetic to the needs of research (funding, project may change direction abruptly, need to communicate with overseas groups).

i think resaerch and developement is not used practically in India. Most of our research work lies in the thesis books which are locked in the university libraries.I think a panel must be made to link this research work for useful purposes for society i think research work must be made coumpalsory even in the school education.Every student in the school level must be given a research project according to his level and understanding. This will develop the necessary skills required for R and D.

Inter-disciplinary research requires good communication amgonst the various departments, most Universities in India are at war with each other. Fix this first. ID research must have benefit for all groups, best to get the different groups to sit down talk to one and another and identify projects that have the greatest benefit for all.

Teachers in colleges are send for refresher courses strictly by the UGC for their promotion. They are simply listening to the classes of resource persons with slides downloaded from internet, merely wasting their 21 days. They are losing their academic days as there are hardly 3 months for each semester with an years syllabus. This refresher courses are to be rescheduled to a week and give the teachers training in new methods, innovations according to the faculty they teach.

Most pathetic condition in research institutions are there were feeble outcome from the R&D institutions for the beneficial of the society inspite of utilising crores of rupees every year. There are not even skilled persons for using various new machineries purchased by them. All scientists from R&D institutions were periodically send for refresher courses for training new methods.

Students should be encouraged to do research and give them hands on training in their institutions itself.Infrastructural facilities were provided to them in their own institutions and teachers were trained to use these facilities. They were sent to research institutions for these during holidays without disturbing the classes. This will be assessed by NAAC like authorities. Interested students were also given chance for training in these institutions.

Research and innovation has to be sparked at childhood. Teach parents the value of research. Have weekly or monthly presentations in primary and high schools about the various types of research available. The beauty of research is that you are working on solutions to big global problems. Have research training as part of primary and high school curriculum. Make kindergarden and primary school learning very hands on - have students play with science experiments to spark their creativity.

IT and IT enabled education through public/private partnership need a change. Private partners are no longer interested in bidding for the projects due to current policy and government unfriendly approach. Also, need to enhance the learning of children with Mathematics and Science Lab through IT enabled learning for Teachers. To enable better quality education fundamental requirement is electricity, good room and internet reach. This needs to be improved through the education cess income.

Teaching in educational institutes is far from needs of industry. Faculty, to start with, is far away from needs of industry!! Following are a few steps 1. Each faculty be required to do practical industrial project. 2. Each student must do free internship for 6 months in industry 3 As pay back, graduated student will be working for company minimum of 6 months where she got internship
