To provide the number of teachers our country needs, we do not have enough of them. To ramp up, we need to use video conferences from great teachers into rooms with a low-performing teacher. Modeling good practices in teaching can improve and develop the low-perf teacher. In my training programs, I have seen teachers who are disconnected, sit up and get enthused by the end of the day and are filled with creative ideas of how to make a difference in their students' lives. Prof devpt is key

Teachers should have a mastery over the subjects and given importance for the developmental psychology. Mere teaching and coaching for exam will never produce a healthy citizen. The potentialities should be identified and encouraged. Counselling is a must for students. Moral education classes should be reactivated and should be used for completing syllabus. The missionary schools are always giving imporatnce for moral education and students are writing examsalso. The same should be followed by

Some are "born" teachers- they break down the most difficult concepts into smaller chunks and hold the hands of their student until they "see" it too! Sadly, the "system" treats teaching as a "science" and not as an "artform". It is a science in some parts and those parameters can be identified and shared as best practices and improve some quality. However, the "art" of teaching is a talent bestowed upon some. These teachers never tire, see potential in every student and make a difference.

This is must and should be done as the first step with the help of technology. Online training and upgrading of skills in the pedagogical areas should be given more and prime importance. How should a teacher float a blended learning coursr, how to use emotional intelligence in class, how should a teacher float a online program etc should be the thrust areas. I would definatley want the govt to implement online instructor education

Post 5 out of 5: 3. Students should be allowed to give feedback on the quality of individual teacher. Strict action must be taken if a teacher does not meet expectations.
4. Periodic exams should be conducted for every teacher for his/her subject of teaching.
5. Teachers of government schools should be relieved from all additional duties like preparing Voters ID card, census, etc. The huge amount of paperwork that they have to submit every month has to be done with.

Post 4 out of many
So what is the solution?
1. Hiring of teachers should only be based upon teaching capabilities and communication skills and not on basis of educational qualifications. Such teachers should be given chance to fulfill the minimum educational qualifications for the post after they are hired.
2. Students of schools/colleges should not be allowed to take private tutions for those subjects that are being taught in the school/college itself.
