Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

The most important aspect for making a comapetent and dedicated teacher is to create awareness for the respect nobility and importance of this profession. The student at secondary level should be motivated and encouraged to adopt teaching as a profession. Pre-service and in-service training should be made mandatory for all teachers for ensuring learning out comes, improvement in the quality of teacher educators is important as well. The private teaching training institution should be discouraged

Agree with shutdown upadhyay. in teacher education, we r focusing on teaching methods, but actually we should focus on learning methods..

I am talking about primary education which is first step of every man,but we/our govt. could not search/recruit best teacher.this is the first reasion is selection in B.T.C. on merit basis. Second is Teacher selection on merit basis.third is Highly qualified person (B.Tech.,P. hd. etc.) not interested teach for One to Six.But they are recruit by Govt. .If we wants strong base of primary education then we change criteria of teacher recruitment.we can not change Mid-day-mill Yojana.

अध्ययन-अध्यापन का कार्य ऐसे गुरुजन बन्धुओं को सौपना चाहिए जो झूठ-बेइमानी-चोरी-छल-कपट आसक्ति-ममता-स्वार्थ से परे हों अथवा इन्हें हर हालत में छोड़कर ईमान-सच्चाई-संयम-सेवा को धारण कर चुके हो| ‘दोष रहित सत्य प्रधान मुक्ति और अमरता से युक्त सर्वोत्तम जीवन विधान और अमन-चैन का सुखी समृद्ध समाज स्थापित करने हेतु गुरुजन बन्धुओं को सबसे पहली तथा सबसे बड़ी जिम्मेदारी अपने ऊपर लेनी और उसे सुचारुरूप से वहन करनी चाहि
