Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

कला शिक्षा विषय बच्चों के मानसिक, बौद्धिक और सृजनात्मक पक्ष को मजबूत बनाता है । कला सभी विषयों की जननी है इसके द्वारा सभी विषयों पर सफलता प्राप्त की जा सकती है ।अत:इस विषय पर बल देना चाहिए और योग्य शिक्षको की नियुक्ती सभी राज्यों मे अनिवार्य करनी चाहिए ।कुछ राज्य इस विषय के शिक्षक नियुक्त नहीं कर रखे है,खासकर राजस्थान ।

(... contd.)There should be a Personal interview, which concentrates on his/her moral conduct, ethics and his psychology. Today's teacher recruitment never bothers about the PERSONALITY of the teacher... if his academics are good OK... if he scores good marks in written OK... There should be a thorough study in this area... The nobility in this noble profession is becoming extinct... with a few exceptions. Outside HE roars, shouts, lectures, preaches... but in the class room ???

Now-a-days teaching profession is losing professionalism and slowly becoming a JOB, which earns a good salary. The new generation of teachers are no more teachers... they just engage themselves in some other businesses after barking out in the classes... They never have a FEELING in their teaching.. they never put their heart in their teaching. The tests for teachers recruitment should not concentrate on the CONTENT of the subject, major part of it should deal with APTITUDE.
