Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

All the elementary school teachers must be registered with Central Authority and must undergo at least 10 days of mandatory training each year on latest teaching techniques, updates of academic knowledge, child psychology, teaching ethics. They should also be tested on these for a minimum qualifying criteria every 5 years.

This System is totally fail. Most of the professor having the P.hd. degree but all are worthless knowldge in Indian University. Today Phd degree is buying & Selling System in University. This is the biggest Joke for Indian Education Society. I am Working as partime professor from 2008 in Chandrapur (Maharshtra) in ShantaRam Potduke College IMSR Kosar Management. My Salary is 45000 but getting 19000 according to management of College. I have been signature on full pay after deducting 19000 remin

I dont know how this block may effective for government to create new thought of generation in Indian Professor. Today education is the most corrupted system in India few decades before every unit within India must say I wan to be A professor/ Teacher but now very few people want to be them this position. I Think Making a service like INDIAN TEACHING SERVICES would attract a lot of enthusiasts and dynamic people.In India we lack enthusiasm and passion for teaching.At my coaching(iitjee), they teach with immense passion and enthusiasm and themselves are willing to work hard and learn new things.The teachers and students in schools have made a psychological view that 'padhai school me nahi hogi'. Moreover the atmosphere and discipline is seriously lacking in schools. There are too much distractions

BASIC CIVIC SENSE IN ENTIRE SCHOOL STAFF , SPECIALLY WITH PRIME EMPHASIS ON ACCOMODATING AND INVOLVING AND ACCEPTING NEW TEACHERS IN THE ALREADY RUNNING ENVIRONMENT , IS A PIVOTAL FACTOR TO ENCOURAGE QUALITY TEACHERS . MUMBAI - TEACHER UNEMPLOYMENT EXISTING AT A HIGH RATE.PRINCIPALS AND THE SCHOOL TRUSTEE TEAM AND MANAGEMENT TEAM , NEED TO BE ANSWERABLE TO THE PARENTS, GOVERNMENT AND CHILDREN AND SHOULD FOLLOW CERTAIN CODE OF CONDUCT . THERE IS TOO MUCH PRIVATISATION OF SCHOOLS .LET THERE BE STANDARD RULES FOR PRIVATISATION ' SALARY PACKAGES, WORKING HRS, LEAVE RULES, ETC CRITERIA FOR SELECTION SHOULD BE NEUTRAL AND REALISTIC .
