Competence of teachers and their motivation is crucial for improving the quality. Several initiatives are being taken for addressing teacher shortages, shortages of secondary school teachers in mathematics, science and languages, improving the quality of pre-service teachers and in-service teachers professional development, enhancing the status of teaching as a profession, improving teachers’ motivation and their accountability for ensuring learning outcomes, and improving the quality of teacher educators. The objective of this theme is to assess the existing scenario and provide workable solutions to address the gamut of issues in teacher education in the school sector.

I am facing unemployment inspite of being a qualified teacher as well as a counsellor. Resume sent by emails. We do not know on what basis selection happens. also, there is so much insecurity and competition breeding inside already existing school teachers , that newcomers are treated badly. why are new teachers not welcomed by the remaining staff ?why so much insecurity? SERIOUSLY, TEACHERS EMPLOYED SHOULD BE MONITORED FOR THEIR EMOTIONAL QUOTIENT , AND HOW THEY TREAT NEW TEACHERS

Teachers, peons, maids, bus drivers, bus maids need to be counselled how to handle children and teenagers language use, manners and use of verbal disciplinary skills needs to be enforced Teachers first need to take care of their personal stress levels and then work using more realsitic skills in schools and colleges

Hi, I suggest some effective change in selection of teachers for schools .I am facing unemployment for past 3-4 yrs...schols near to me house, have no vacancy and it becomes very tedious to travel long distance. Modi Sir, why do school principals and HR dept employ people staying far from school locations ??? Teachers in general are disrespected in India. Modi Sir, you will keep your house clean, you will motivate people to change, but how do we encourage people to understand ??

First of all the government including states have to improve their infrastructure in the field of education specially in rural areas and promote the policy that how can people sent their kids to the government schools not to private

Science and maths teacher can be asked to refer to MIT open courseware video lectures and learn from them. Also, there are many animations on science and mathematics, both as discs in market and in internet. All of them can be compiled and distributed to the teachers who then will learn to teach students by means of animations.

Backdoor entry in teaching profession is not good for education system. State govts fill post of teacher 3000 to 4000 rs per month and all of them are coming with backdoor entry they are not good performer these teacher all time think about their salary hike and they go for strike or other. Well educated person not enough with this salry and they not accept this job so how its possible to increase the level of learning. So centre govt make stick rule related to teaching profession

save yog education from becoming yoga acrobatics.Create a yoga university.Refer to the classics before we are told by the west about our folly to reduce yoga education to a mere skill leading to the mastery of a few asanas and prnayamas to maintain physical health alone.Let yoga qualified degree people teach yoga in schools and not quarter baked people having three weeks/months courses in yoga or physical education people teach it as vyayaam only.

The teachers according to new norms shall be made by the ordinary degree colleges as 4 yr integ. prog.It is high time that we recognize preparation of teachers as a professional degree and not the one which can be doled out by anyone. Philosophy has found no place in teacher education curriculum- the future teachers need not know the business of knowledge generation and its transaction?Don't we want teachers to create their own knowledge?teach them philosophy so that they know knowledge creation
