Vocational development of students at the higher education level is also required. Most of the UG/PG students do not end up with any expertise. Indian institutions those who are interested in developing the short/Long term Expert programs in affiliation with the Top ranked Overseas institutions, for students at Bachelors/masters level, should also be encouraged.

Quality Education if given produces Quality students. Most of our High School and Secondary school teachers are qualified only till B.ed
The Education qualification for teachers should have a minimum qualification of Masters than Bachelors so as to produce quality students in school.
The focus should be on Mentor-ship and not Teaching.

I started examining the finnish education system the other day and what I assessed about the teachers there was:
1.They are highly qualified with PhD's under their hood.
2.They have gone through a serious and strict but still innovative pattern of tests.
3.They have only been granted to teach based on the policy of meritocracy.
4.They have been handsomely rewarded and are hugely respected.
5.Lastly,they have this great affection towards the job and a rock solid will power 2 groom children.

In continuation to my last comment, I think the government should also come out with a very luring & motivating policy for female teachers especially for government schools. This would attract more and more of our highly educated female housewives to take up teaching as their professions and would in turn raise the education standard in our government schools.

There should be an online exam for the teachers every year or 2 years to keep a check on the quality of the teachers. Only qualified teachers should be allowed to teach. This should be mandatory for teachers of all registered private / government schools and colleges across the country. Moreover, we should have a body (such as IMA for the doctors), where each and every teacher should be registered and have online access to the latest education practices from through-out the world.

ALL THE ENGINEERING PRIVATE COLLEGE TEACHERS SHOULD HAVE THE ENTRANCE EXAM AND INTERVIEWS WHICH SHOULD BE TAKEN BY THE STATE/CENTRAL GOVT. OR GOVT SHOULD ESTABLISH SEPERATE COMISSION FOR ENGG. TEACHERS EXAM. TODAY THE PRIVATE COLLEGES DO NOT CONSIDER THE KNOWLEDGE OF TEACHERS.THOSE TEACHERS DONT HAVE ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE SO HOW STUDENT GET! SO PLEASE TAKE THIS MATTER SERIOUSLY FOR THE BETTER FUTURE OF INDIA . FOR BECOMING THE INDIA AS A DEVELOPED COUNRY THERE IS A NEED OF KNOWLEDGEABLE ENGINEERS.
