As a teacher, it is my cherished desire to see this profession as respectable and attractive in India, and not as choice of last resort. The idea is to lure the best of minds towards the profession with no guilt. The criteria should not just be loads of degrees but classroom conduct and compassion. Most importantly, offering attractive remuneration and emphasising on its fair implementation will change the existing mindset towards this field.lastly, lets move beyond govt vs pvt school segregation.

Selecting the right teacher is a big challenge. Mere brilliant academic result is not enough. There are qualified teachers in every school who love neither to impart knowledge nor care for their student. Teaching is just a source of income to them. A background check is a must. A mediocre teacher lacks the passion to build the nation.

TRAIN THE TRAINER program for elementary school teachers, especially in urban and remote locations, to increase the quality of the education provided to the kids. These teachers provides basic knowledge and lay the foundation.Kids tutored by half standard teachers will face difficulties when they move to higher class and may give up education due to fear & anxiety and become illiterate. To eradicate illiteracy, government should conduct a program to train the teachers and evaluate them at the end.

I feel it is very important to rake in motivated and committed teachers in education profession. I think All India services for teachers,as has been suggested by many, would meet the concern of eliminating frivolous candidates.

Testing of teacher's knowledge by some examination held annualy or in 2yrs, increment and facilities based on them can be good mode of encouragement fr teachers.. Its a very imp issue.. Another method can be by testing a sample of students frm different schools of a district randomly n ranking schools n teahers based on d performance of students..

All india entrance exam for each subject should be made compulsory in order to become a school or any teacher even for private organization. Question pattern should be similar like CSIR/Net exam i.e. analytical. There should be also questions from research on child psychology and behaviour studies. Please visit http://qr.ae/dvbtX

The B.Ed. Education should be given in NCERT colleges with quality teaching along with the value of nation building and service to mankind with true patriotism. Present system of obtaining B.ED. degree by paying heavy donation in Private colleges is damaging the service quality in teachers and now they are only money earning machines.
