Education should emphasize on individual skills and interests and work at optimising them for the nation's progress.Teachers play a very vital role in shaping young minds to achieve great heights. The basic is to get the teacher trained properly and recruit teachers who are focussed to get the best out of a child.CHANGE should begin with theTEACHERS COMMUNITY!!!!

To revamp teacher education the best idea is to implement yearly report card system by external Authorities. these report card will impact their salary as well like we do in our private organizations. Every year their should be a Independent examination for the teachers to test their present skills and development.
The fear of examination will help them to keep their selves upto date with new things

Teachers skill and quality depends on the respective state govt policies and also the variation in syllabi of the same standard ( say +2 )when compared with other states.This. diffference can be made uniform including mode of entry procedure to engg colleges through centralgovt intervention. Teachers selection process also be revamped to ensure high quality standards of teachers.Schools also to be equipped with modern computers, lab etc.

Lack of learned teachers with skills & inclination for imparting knowledge to the students is conspicuous in most of the present educational institutions. As a result the student community is loosing trust & confidence on the available teaching community in the campus resulting in lack of interest in learning at the class rooms. If the teacher can face the class rooms confidently and win the trust of the student community half of the present problems inside the educational campuses can be solved

We have IIT/IIM and NIT and IISc and ISI which are delivering quality professional in the respective trades. Why not have elite institutions called "Indian Institute of Teaching" which should be tasked with the responsibility of preparing world class "teachers" for the country. A B.Ed or M.Ed degree bought by money can't really help the country. Our teachers must be exceptionally well trained and experienced only then will the education system matter and serve the purpose.

We can't have quality teachers till the time, the stigma attached to teaching as being a fall back option when all else fails is corrected. When I was doing my BCA/MCA, I found that my seniors who passed out earlier to me, after trying to find a job in the corporate came back to my college to start working as a lecturer. They were too demotivated with their failure to do well in the corporate so they kept on passing that failure to the students. Bad teacher is the biggest danger.

In our country, while we may decline to accept but we see teaching as not a great profession. Hence, we look at teachers as being inferior to a doctor or an engineer or an IAS. Due to this, the motivation or inclination of a student all through their academic life is rarely towards becoming a Teacher. Instead, everybody just wants to become either a doctor or an engineer or an MBA etc. Teaching is becoming the last resort for a person who hasn't been able to find a good job elsewhere.
