In the past few months we all have worked in conjunction towards making Tumakuru a Smart City. The citizen feedback received in Stage 1 and 2 of this Challenge have been carefully analyzed to articulate the vision, goals and prioritized Area Based Development & PAN City projects proposed in the Smart City Proposal.

As part of the process for Round 3 Citizen Engagement, Tumakuru City Corporation is inviting everyone related to Tumakuru for your feedback as well as valuable suggestions on the proposal.

Walking is difficult and often dangerous; there is little pavement, existing pavement needs repair, marked crossings are rare, and most sidewalks lack trees to shade pedestrians

This should become evident in a follow-up to this project that will allow an assessment of the cities performance in each smart characteristic.

Perhaps it would not be an exaggeration to say that truly smart cities use this city ranking as a tool to benchmark with other cities, and draw lessons from better performing cities, perhaps resulting in policy transfer.

The smart city project improves the economyby increasing per capita income of people by reducing unemployment count and by concentrating on key factors such as literacy level.
