Elders are known to be storehouse of traditional values, skills and morale. Present paper is an attempt to discuss the traditional knowledge of elderly people, their role and highlights many areas where it can be useful for elderly themselves. Some insights are offered for strategic utilization of traditional knowledge and experience of elderly to address the need and improve the quality of elderly life in terms of socio-psychological, cultural, economic and health aspects. This valuable traditional information can be made accessible, affordable and adaptable to the specific needs of elderly people. Presently, the loss of biological diversity and erosion of traditional knowledge systems (TKS) are issues of great concern. Most of these systems of knowledge are unique and are often known only to a few individuals or communities. This traditional knowledge includes mental inventories of local biological resources, animal breeds, local plant, and crop and tree species. Traditional knowledg

. In 2004, Li and associates isolated and identified 35 compounds from the petals of saffron and out of them crocusatin-K (9) showed strong tyrosinase inhibition in a competitive manner (Li et al., 2004). Ample evidence suggests that Curcuma longa (Family-Zingiberaceae) present in a traditional semisolid preparation of powdered herbs called 'Ubtan' enhance the skin color (Mukherjee, 2015;Dixit and Goyal, 2011). The rhizome of C. longa contains curcumin (10) as major phytoconstituent. ...
... Ubtan is prepared from three primary ingredients, i.e. the powdered rhizomes of Curcuma longa (turmeric), seeds of Cicer arietinum (chickpea), and heartwood of Santalum album (sandalwood) mixed in equal ratio of 1:1: 1 w/w/w (Biswas et al., 2016a,b;Jamal et al., 2005). There is ample evidence to suggest that Curcuma longa one of the ingredients of Ubtan improves the complexion of skin by a skin lightening effect (Dixit and Goyal, 2011). The ritual 'Solah Shringar' encompasses sixteen

When a Person is about to suffer Heart Issues, Modern Medicine recommends making the person affected to be at ease to breath and to allow normal blood flow to happen by recommending certain postures. Aspirin to be kept under her/his tongue is another recommendation to save the person. All fine. After all, what is this Aspirin ? a Blood Thinner. A Blood Thinner is a Blood thinner. Why only Aspirin qualify for it ? Why not Arnica Montana or Albumin from Homeopathy, or Amritharishta from Ayurvedic or Natural remedy such as Ginger, Garlic, Cinnamon, Green Chilly, Black Pepper recommended in the Daily Lives of

Traditional Knowledge should not be claimed by any Religion. After all they are by the People. There is a consistent Campaign to discredit all past findings based on Observation and Experience as being Unscientific and without Evidence. Modern Medicine for example claims to follow everything based on Evidence...
Some Example to cite here is, even before this Modern Science came into being People across the World had identified What grain or What Fruit or What Vegetables to be Eaten. They must have arrived at that based on Evidence only. Some folks may have eaten something and died though and others seen and treated them as scientific evidence and followed through.
How does modern science experiment such things ? by using it on guinea Pigs or Rats and later on voluntary humans....

Recent youngster freedom depicts on free will which is so free that they seems forgetting the mandatory regular task of being neat and organised.
Room full of filths and dirt is full of negative energy, which can be easily proven by placing a true Rudhrakhya over untidy cloth, it will start rotating in anyi-clockwise direction, would be enough to prove the importance.
And now imagine someone remained surrounded by these negative energy 24x7, poor person would never het out of that and sufferes whole life in a flith. Its a pure man made disaster. Our trations have given us the templates and daily rules which can help up us get rid of all negatives to gain and grow and in the process enjoy the very life we have been spoiling by following something in a name of FREEDOM.
Which is not at all FREEDOM but another form of SLAVERY, ironically created by us only.
SO STICK TO OUR LONG PROVEN BHARTIYA TRADITIONS TO GAIN MORE OF LIFE AROUND US.
JAI HIND !

So many years ago our ancestors predicted the comets and its nature without sending any space crafts. Traditional with some conditional and not knowing the Science behind it.For example Tulsi has a lot of medicinal benefits. Everyone growing in mid of their house. It cures a lot of diseases. Behind this growing Tulsi, Scientific knowledge is hidden.

Dear &:HPM Shri Narendra Modi ji, Sir you write in Tamil, speak in Tamil but in reality you don't care for Tamil ref PMOPG/E/2022/0172917. Last 08 months passed without results. There's none in GOI who cares. RED FLAG to be hoisted as a SYMBOL of SLAVERY in🇮🇳. Because including you as I have written many letters via India post, PMO portal, Emails and all other forums. However, none of you cared but endorsed slavery to continue by Bangladeshi Airline by not taking any action on them. Every door is closed by Leaders/Ministers & GOI favouring wrong. By favouring this injustice done by the Airline, you are favouring Slavery to continue in India. If you as in your Govt can't control a Bangladeshi Airline and make them respect India, its system, rules, regulations, procedures and respect Indians, why you grant permission to operate in India? you are also responsible for this Slavery because you haven't taken any action despite giving all evidences. No PF, ESI, over time, payslip. Sold us?

Respected Sir
Long back at Jamui, someone gifted me a steel neti pot and taught my husband and me how to do neti. I tried but failed miserably. I have always been scared of doing that and eventually feel choked, but my husband uses it whenever he has cold. I take tablets and he does neti during a flu. Even recently when I was completely dependent on a nebulizer, he did neti intermittently and felt relieved. It really worked wonders. Hopefully I will learn how to do it properly. This process is a part of yoga and rooted in Indian tradition.
Benefits of doing neti
- Rinses the nasal passage removing the mucus
- Improves breathing
- Relieves sinus pressure
- Limits congestion
- Hardly has side effects
And what I saw if you learn it properly
the saline water will cleanse your nostrils and help you in getting rid of your chest congestion.
Certain traditional knowledge is extremely beneficial. When we talk about Yoga we have to remember these small or common practices like Neti. Regards
