The first prerequisite is to conduct a process audit starting from Customer requirements/feedback/complaints and moving backward through the process chain to identify gaps between Customer requirements and what is offered-corresponding corrective actions would cover areas of product mix planning, activity based costing, and developing a customer centric mind set instead of a bureaucratic contractual mind set. Other actions include benchmarking not only with in the Industry, but also outside.

India is a one of the leading producers and consumers of steel worldwide. We should encourage development and installation of small or medium scale manufacturing & steel processing plants wherever a sufficient source of ingredients of steel is found. We should adopt latest technically efficient and economic, low waste generating techniques and manufacturing practices.

We are producing most of our steel products in IS standard where as rest of the globe use products with ASTM standard. Due to the above we are not having steel products available in ex-stock basis for immediate delivery. By encouraging domestic users to use the products (plates, shapes like angle, Channel, beam etc) of ASTM standard the mill will be producing to that standard. This will help us in exporting more of our steel products. China does the same.

Respected Modiji, OUR STEEL MARKET IS CAPTURED BY JINDALS, TATA AND ESSAR. THEY DECIDE THE RATES IN THE MARKET AND CREATING ARTIFICIAL SHORTAGE IN THE MARKET AND GAINING MORE BY EXPLOITING THE CONSUMERS. THEY HAVE PRESSURISED TO GOVT TO IMPOSE ANTI DUMPING LAW ON STEEL RAW MATERIAL FROM CHINA. AND STARTED LOOTING THE MSME AND LARGE SECTOR.KINDLY LOOK INTO THIS MATTER SURELY ALL THE SCAM WILL COME OUT.

sir respected Modi sb --for under develop countries it is the best policy minimum import and maximum export, though steel has become part of human life hence self reliance is must for this important sector

Namaste Sir, I suggest following incentives for Integrated Steel Plants: @ An unit being run profitably & efficiently for 5 consecutive years may be allocated with a captive Iron ore mines at predetermined transfer rate. For Secondary Steel manufacturers, an incentive @ 2% of its cost per tonne for quantities sold in Rural market. For Integrated Steel Plants, the incentive will be 1.5%. @ To create fund, we may charge nominal Steel Development Fund of 0.1% while billing to customers.

Very good that Modiji realized that Steel, Roads and Railways are foundation of economy. Korea, China, Europe all became developed starting from Steel. We should create both lower and higher quality Steel. Collaborate with Korea(POSCO) and Germany to put steel plants in India. We can give cheap land and low cost labour.

meme sector , large users , exporters ,producers, raw material suppliers and ministry must meet once in 3 months.retired technocrats must be part of such symposiums.this will create the synergy between all and things will shape up better.
