The Government of India has been formulating National Housing Policies to provide guidance to the State Governments to meet the growing housing shortage. The first every Housing Policy was announced in May, 1988. The National Urban Housing and Habitat Policy (NUHHP), 2007 is currently under force. A copy of the same is available at http://mhupa.gov.in/policies/duepa/HousingPolicy.2007.pdf. 2. What should the State Governments do in achieving the said objective?
3. What should be the role of ULBS’s?
4. What role can the State Housing Boards/Corporations and other state entities play in this objective?
5. What are the key learnings from Urban Local Bodies in implementation of housing programmes?
6. What role can the private sector play in “Housing for All” by 2022?
7. What is the role of industries?
8. What should be the role of individual?
9. How to mobilize financial resources for this objective?
10. What kind of legal and regulatory frameworks are required to facilitate housing in general and “Housing for All” in particular?
11. How can more urban land be made available for housing?
12. How can linkage between employment/livelihood and housing be made more robust?
13. How to promote new building technologies for faster, robust, sustainable and environment friendly homes especially mass housing?

There should be a clear rule that check to aquire land or floor more than 100-150 Sqr Mtr per family by any mean by any concequence i.e. We have to apply a quota in the life of any Indians as far as Land/Floor/House is concerne. Family mean Husband, Wife and Children only. If Some one gets Land etc. from his father/Grandfather or from whatever be the cause, their quota must be updated and checked accordingly. So that Peace, harmony and equality prevailed over wrong doing things. Equal land to all

The interest rates of loans for the daily earning people are very high.We should keep them in mind when we start any policy. Daily earning people are the 70% population of urban areas and they find unable to get the real benefit. Rich people easily get every thing and gather ore and ore property, while the poor remains in the same situation. We should watch that the things must go in the hand of the needed persons .

crucial to involve people in showcasing how land reform act and housing act go together. I think government should try to involve public to understand the implication of land reforms

Dear Modiji, Please follow Singapore model housing policy http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_housing_in_Singapore I have visited there and it is very good one,Goverment can do two things ,1 Sell the flats for regular income people,or give on rent small apartments /houses who can not afford to buy them http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Public_housing_in_Singapore Also currently who own a house in their name should not be allowed to buy one 2 The buyer should be only eligible to buyonly one

Please amend the Rent Control Act, make it reasonable contract for both parties. more than one million properties are lying vacant, people do not want to give on rent. this will immediately solve the problem of finding shelter for people in urban areas and help to curb the growth of slums. the present law is anti house owner and being misused by rich tenants
