Banking literacy is essential for the villagers before opening accounts. It may lead to large scale duping. Each village branch of the bank should have a socially committed person to protect the illiterates from the clever antisocial elements.

My suggestion:- please attach a 'bank account application' form with 'Prepaid/postpaid/landline application form' (for new customers). and for old customer tell telecom company to request customers to open a bank account compulsory. or put scheme of recharge ,bonus, validity etc. ,so the customer will come to bank to open an account.

jan dhan yojana is good till the time it is under effective watch so there should be some mechanism to look after this yojana other wise it may be used for illegal activity and ultimately lead towards serious consequences.

Open an account for each Aadhar card number AND make all central payment thru that. Problem solved. Also have YOU or ANYONE given some serious though to transferring money to/via mobiles phones. This systems achieve everything the Jan-Dhan Yojana aims for but is not reliant on brick and mortar branches EVERYWHERE. India should learn to take advantage of IT instead of thinking in the traditionaly manner - focus on the END objective NOT HOW and we will progress faster and more efficiently!

Hi Sir, With this scheme, please let me know what steps are you taking to stop 16 lakh Bengladesi's to open their account's using the voters cards provided by west Bengal government. Aren't you enabling them to get a valid citizenship now as it will be almost impossible to find the real India citizen, Once these Bengaldeshi has an account they can get anything and on top of it you are providing them direct bank transfer. We voted for getting them out of this country not to be fed on our taxes.

Make bank account opening mandatory by law or levy heavy fines. This will make all people open at least one bank account. Link everything to Aadhaar.
