Satna is one of the leading industrial cities in the heart of central India in Madhya Pradesh. Also referred as a Cement City, Satna contributes about 8 to 9 percent of India's total cement production. Satna district houses some major religious tourism centers including 'Chitrakoot' and 'Maihar'.

The city is the gateway to the Vindhya region and is located on NH-75 and the Howrah-Allahabad-Mumbai rail corridor.

Satna missed the opportunity to make a mark in Round – 1 & 2 of Smart City Challenge, in-spite of improvement in the Smart City Proposal submitted in Round – 2. Now, as a part of City Challenge, Satna is required to upgrade its Smart City Proposal to get through the Round – 3 of Smart City Challenge.

The Municipal Corporation of Satna is upgrading its Smart City Proposal (SCP) for Round – 3. The earlier Round – 2 proposal envisaged development of a Greenfield Township as Area based Development and smart initiatives for Safe Environment and Smart Learning as Pan-City Solution.

A continuous engagement with the citizens at every stage is of utmost importance to re-shape our Smart City Proposal. The Municipal Corporation of Satna hereby invites suggestions from citizens of Satna for upgrading our ‘Satna- Smart City Proposal’. Your valuable suggestions on the Smart City Round – 2 proposal being uploaded are welcomed.

पुलिस को भी शिक्षित होने की जरूरत है। उनको यातायात संचालित करना नही आता है। स्मार्ट सिटी को स्मार्ट पुलिस चाहिए उसके बाद जनता खुद स्मार्ट हो जाएगी।
