Addressing his fellow Indians from the Red Fort on 15th August 2014 the Prime Minister called for replacing the Planning Commission with another Institution that is in sync with the modern times and most importantly in sync with the aspirations of 21st century India. The Prime Minister also emphasized on the important role the states have to play in taking the nation forward.

This forum invites your innovative ideas on what shape will this proposed institution take in terms of structure, composition and area of functioning. Another area of focus that requires your inputs is how this proposed institution can enhance Centre-State coordination and thus become a true celebration of India’s Federal Structure.

The Planning Commission to be renamed "National development Council" and headed by PM.Members for this council can be nominated by PM apart from CM and leader of opposition of each State. Also members to be included on nomination from political parties based on the percentage of votes they got in the last central election. There should be State level Development Councils in line of the Central level Development council. This will ensure better coordination between States and the Centre.

The new Institution shoupd be a Democratic Institution where the members are either selected by votes from stakeholders(corporates, professors, student unions, kisan unions, trade unions, employee unions, states et al) or through open competitive tests where members can be selected on merit basis performance in the tests. Every member should compulsorily retire after 2 yrs paving way for new members. The New Planning entity should be of a Shadow Government form comprising depts as in real Cabinet.

One thing i would like to share my view, different from planning commission is about taxation. I feel rather for different bodies for taxation (like VAT, excise, etc..), their should be one taxing body, something like generalized taxing body, which should me made completely online. This will help to reduce the burden on businessman, improve clarity, reduce corruption, save time for many people, which one can use for more productive work. I feel their should be a different discussion on taxation.

one major problem CORRUPTION solved if distributed work done by committee. the solution of CORRUPTION is the committee work on state wise than money directly supply to committee.than committee check all type of work done by state government and monthly basis report created than the cost of money report directly supply to prime minister so if proper work done by committee than all problem solved.
