The PSBs handle treasury work and Govt schemes also. They opened the maximum accounts in PMJDY. So it is unfair to call them inefficient. Whenever I visit the SBI branch where I have my account, the first thing I notice is the rush. I feel banks are understaffed to handle the quantum of work they are having. Recruitments of staff to make all counters run will reduce it. More counters branches can be opened if needed.

CVO in PSBs should be from CBI. CBI should recruit person from Banking Industry with adequate experience of handling important portfolios. CVO should be full time employee of CBI and report to his establishment instead of CMD of the bank. Market value of all benefits, to be passed on to employee, should be included in salary slip and must be the part of employee's CTC. GM and above officials should be recruited from market including internal eligible candidate on merit basis only.

8. Employees should have realistic targets. They too are humans. Don't make it aggressive otherwise there would be product misselling. 9. Hire quality data entry operator. They must be well trained for error free data entry. I request you to visit this sarcastic article, which represt the reality of bank employee and work culture of banks www.fakingnews.firstpost.com/2014/12/bank-po-files-rti-to-confirm-whether-his-job-is-a-sarkaa.

6. Please make work more and more paperless. There should be a common form for any kind of application in all the PSBs. Why do I have to fill individual form for ATM, Debit Card, Net Banking, Mobile Banking, etc.? There should be a single document for all the facilities. It just requires a "Yes-No" field. 7. Please stop charging from non-home branch deposits. All people don’t live where their account is.

4. To add any feature to existing account, there should be provision to apply online. For example, I have saving account and I want to opt for net banking, then why should I go to branch or if I forget the password, I should be able to reset it online itself. Private bank does all the formalities online. Make all the transactions paperless and online. 5. Try to follow the innovations which are already available in private banks.

2. Bank employee should be appointed within his/her home state. I urge to appoint bank employee as nearest as possible to his/her home town. It's quite cumbersome to transfer from one location to another. They also want to live social life. So there should be balance in bank job and social life and immediately reform the transfer policy. 3. Bank websites should be responsive, so it can be opened in minimalistic view in mobile phone and data consumption can be reduced.

The mantra is money never differentiates between public or private so why should we have a mindset to think of public to be non-profitable.

I would like to give these suggestions to Government of India, Ministry of Finance and All India Bank Association. 1. Bank employees are doing one of the riskiest jobs. According to their work pressure and job nature they don't get paid well. Their allowances are not well deserved compare to central government employee. So wage revision is first and foremost demand. They must be paid for each hour of overtime done my employee.

Let there be very little demarcation between public and private enterprise. If we try to get into this mindset then everything will become quick. Because the people want to eat, live lifestyles like other citizens then why not follow some of the best practices to better their lifestyles and set in healthy competition that can bring manifold benefits by reduced interest rates and better capital funding in quick time.

Try work from home option for clerical staff especially after 6 in the evening and early morning if necessary to mobilize real estate space to other sectors on a rental basis or sell off and strengthen the balance sheets to recover from NPAs.
