Public sector banks generally work in non profit areas also. The terrain and sometimes the customers in these areas are a little hostile. It is a bit unfair to compare them with private banks that work mostly in large cities, charge higher rates on loans and deal more with HNIs and corporates. PSU banks need to be given a more presentable face in the form of more counters(leading to shorter queues),more help desks & better infrastructure. Even today, customers can be seen searching for stationary

Please try going paperless as far as possible as early as possible. All existing processes should be conceived with electronic inputs from electronic terminals like palmtops etc... emulating the as is process with electronic means to start with. Simplification of processes and other things after the staff is comfortable with the existing electronic interface due to age and literacy concerns and handling customer pressures to get a better buy in to modernize in terms of technology.

Proper training at psu banks. Improving customer service according to the type of customers. Improving man power at psu banks. Monitoring functions of pvt banks. strict ombudsman policy to help the customers. Careful recommendations for loans to bigger companies or corporates to avoid npa. Education loans can be totally int free for the period of study. Also education loans shouldn't be rejected without any proper reason. Give respect to customers. Improve hospitality in psu banks.

Public sector bank employees should be more customer focused, friendly and courteous. They treat us like as if they are doing a favor to us. Most of them needs to change their out-look towards customers. Some of them are good too. May be job-security is making them so reluctant. If they are stressed due to overwhelming number of customers per branch, increase the capacity or number of branches. But they have to change. If not, at some point they will loose customers to private and MNC banks.

In continuation of my earlier post a link for your kind reference to check what has been the response to this FM notification and how many benefitted as on date? (Female bank staffers may soon get transfers of their choice)... Just a notification? Bank has overlooked/denied such request being done? Details can be given if required. How can we expect reforms if FM notification does not carry weightage? http://financialservices.gov.in/download.asp?rec=309&NotificationType=C

Dear Sir, in my opinion the route causes of lower efficiency in public sector banks are: 1. People's Attitude towards their monotonous and routine jobs. 2. Computer literacy Possible improvements: 1. Team outings and refreshing activities to motivate teams and innovation based incentives. 2. Using school students help as interns or part time jobs to speed up computer usage and reducing burden on senior people. Benefit: Monitory to students, finance learning and help to Banks.

India and Prime minister's global tour should encourage in forex trade by banks especially in Chinese Yuan and Russian Rouble especially when their economies tank. Future oil and gas contracts with Russia and China could become a necessity from political and logistic standpoint. Besides manufacturing window and FDI windows should encourage forex trading with professionalized derivative and hedging strategies in accordance with governments needs to address CAD, Fiscal deficit and balance of payme

The RBIs guidelines on limiting withdrawals are not towards development but refusal of services. This shall be regulated on the basis of minimum/average balance maintained by them. The ATM limit imposed will be harassment to business/working class community as they will abscond during office hrs.for withdrawal physically. Customers are made to wander unnecessarily by irresponsible staff and behave very rudely and even barbaric and officers and staff go hand in hand with each other.

Public sector banks are quick in granting lots of concessions to large corporates be it ROI, Processing fees or other service charges, only to show growth by compromising the profitability. PSB are also not positive in funding to priority sector and MSME who pays the highest interest and service charges with lowest NPA.
