PSU banks are profit making organizations not a charitable trust. Any govt. scheme should not be imposed on them. If imposed, govt. should not talk about net profit of the bank or should provide incentive for the bank against these schemes. PSU banks are suffering from huge NPA, Less employee base, poor infrastructure blah. blah. Big corporates houses are the biggest defaulters and bank is not at all able to recover it because of political pressure. This may sound bitter but very true.

Firstly Psb must be merged urgently. So that our Psb competition must be reduced in same corridor. Branches must be open in rural areas according to population not according to banks rural branch target.Lot of NPA is in queue, it needs to be recover anyhow in time bound manner. Responsible person should be behind bars for NPA. For any kind of loan staff accountability should be there. Bank employees salary must be respectable. Well trained young employee should be on front desk.

Posts of Chairperson and Managing Director should be held by different persons. Managing Director should be chosen from the same bank. Incentive payments to Chairman and MD should be based on long term performance. Evergreening and Window Dressing must disentitle them from any incentives. Cartel behaviour among these banks should attract heavy fines. Only qualified professionals need to be appointed / elected as Directors of the Boards.

npa management to be strictly followed especially the big ticket loans, However the PSU bank's are utilised by GOI for implementing the policies, its good... then why they expecting the banks for earn the profit... instead they do extremely good in their job. We make the bank for giving the mass services but contradictory they want to that they provided the class banking which they do.

Govt should choose whether the PSB are doing social banking or professional banking. Adequate and specialized Manpower should be there in each branch as in pvt sector branch specialized and trained staff is there. i.e Each branch should have 1 marketing manager to expand the business, 1 credit expert for credit appraisal. Branch manager in each branch should be at least 5 years experienced. Some expert back office should be there i.e call center for customer troubleshooting to free branch

Government should not interfere into the lending policy of Bank, mainly government sponsored scheme should close immediately. All bad loans of corporate houses must recovered with in time frame. Willful default should come under criminal offense because they are not paying public money.
